Spunj's 9800Pro ran this thing pretty nicely, how do you think my 3800x2, 7600GT and 1GB would fair?

well better than a 9800 pro :P Actually very surprised, though the specs would be more demanding. But my PC (see sig) which is over 2 years old now and laptop will run it.

Little annoying about the delay, I just hope this is it...gonna see if i can get on a newsletter to check when it 'goes gold'.

Cant wait to get this game, Had it for Xbox and it was fantastic, but as soon as i heard it was for pc release i cut down and didnt complete any more races. Got my G25 ready for when its released.

Is a steering wheel necessary? I have a playstation style gamepad. Would I be at a big disadvantage? Never had problems with games like gran turismo and alike. G25 is quite expensive! :)

A pad is just fine. The game is more arcade than sim by a long way.

Yeah my mate has a 6600GT and it ran well enough. It looks better on my 7600GT but not by much. I think extra RAM made a diff for both of us.

Congratulations you just sold it to one more person matey :D

was worried my system wouldnt hack it, graphics look rather special :)

i have played and completed this game on the xbox 360 and i thought i would give some opinions for you pc users.

the game is VERY arcade styled

it is pretty terrible to play with a steering wheel

the motor bikes handle like penny farthings

all in all it is a very enjoyable game and i still play it regularally

you can't beat meeting someone at the bottom of the island and blasting 40 or 50 miles around with them :D

there is a new patch in the works that includes a big physics upgrade and a new "hardcore" mode which will utilize the new physics.

also there is meant to be full support for steering wheels and force feedback included in the patch. hopefully they will get that sorted asap.

Well ive decided to cancel my order. I think ill look at getting it second hand in a month or two. Or if ive got £20 spare at the time of release ill get it then.

Really looking forward to this, despite the slightly luke-warm reveiws - 80%ish - it looks very nice and appeals as a pick up and play sort of game, with out GTR's learning curve.

Shame about the lack of damage, as it removes a lot of tension when racing..but it does offer so much else I guess you can't have it all.

Roll on 16th.

Got mine on pre-order, it's only £20.49 delivered. I like the ability to play with others on-line but also the fact that you don't have to rely on other players to have a good time, unlike LFS where all it takes is one numpty to ruin a whole race.

Thats true. There seem to be quite a few more muppets on LFS these days. Shame really... it's a great game.

Don't get me wrong, I love LFS, I think it's a great example of how a racing game should be done. TDU isn't a racing game though (although there is racing in it) so as far as I'm concerned there's no competition between the two.
