Oh and PhatPhish, one thing i would definately do is purchase a programme called netlimiter, firstly so you can limit your upsteam/downstream on torrents more effectively than the actuall torrent application can itself. Secondly because it allows you to monitor the bandwidth useage of your computer on an application by application basis - could give you an idea of whats using up your bandwidth.

I'm at Uni and I can connect OK. You should try and make an online account though. If you make an offline account you can then go online with it in the future.

You might not want to play online now but its best I think to get an online account so you have that capability as and when you want to play online.
 
Update on the patch from the Atari forum
In order to give players the high quality of experience they expect, the Test Drive Unlimited PC patch will be released in mid-June following further testing to ensure the complete stability of the code.

As a special exclusive gift to all PC players, two brand new cars will be included with the patch completely free; the Audi RS4 and Nissan Skyline R34.

Main fixes of the patch are as follows:

· Corrupted saved games (previously lost save games cannot be restored)

· Freezing / crashes (at saving points and other specific places in the game)

· Some performance issues (low fps, stuttering fps, micro freezes)

· Anti-cheats system improved

· Audio bugs

· Other miscellaneous issues

Regarding Nvidia card issues, Nvidia has addressed this for some of its cards with driver updates. Eden and Atari are still working closely with Nvidia to solve the remaining issues.

Well i've stopped playing TDU as much... it's got a problem. Every time i try and quit the game, it freezes half way through and i get stuck on a black screen. Cant do anything to get out of it. :o
 
Hmmm I think my save game is buggered :/

Just logged on and found that overnight Ive become an expert and done all the MP stuff :confused:. Also to top it all it seems only bits of roads Ive already travelled through are blue while other bits arent :/

Great need to go around most of the showrooms again to get access to motorbikes - Im shelving this game until the patch...

You do know there adding in 2 bonus cars to say sorry for the delay. The nissan skyline and an audi i think. Besides i'd rather have a well made patch that fixes more or better than a rushed patch that might need another patch after.
 
I'd be happy to wait if I could connect to the servers a bit more often. Last night it was hopeless and quite often for the weekend when you think I'll sit down and play for a bit it will not log on!

To add insult to injury my GT Legends will not work anymore (I think it's vista or my SATA DVD drive)
 
Ah that reminds me. I have to disable Sunbelt Kerio to get TDU to connect to the servers. Any ideas what I have to fiddle with to get TDU running with my firewall running?
 
Mega old post revival ***! \o/

Just caved and bought this as the new nforce drivers FINALLY fixed the graphical corruption for 7800gtxs (hopefully). Another reason would be that my flatmate has been teasing me with his collection of jags and TVRs.

Anyone on here still play this? Just hoping when it arrives later this week i don't log on to find the online community is non-existant. :/
