***The Official Wolfdale 8200/8400/8500 Overclocking Thread ***

Considering I said the mobo would have no problem with 8400 I have no idea what this post means.

Yea, but you were implying by the use of the words "Old Dead Tech" that it wouldnt clock much at all or infact even work properly... and have yet again almost gone on to print a retraction in a manner of speaking... :p

Good point Monster. Easy should know about transparancy. We don't want to give unfair or misleading statements that confuse people do we.:p

Batch code info etc added to post.

I am having to use an 8x multi due to the fact that setting it to 9x in BIOS results in 6x in Windows, all relevant things disabled in BIOS - Speedstep etc

Proves my board will do 500FSB anyway :)

Give it a run with Orthos, if it lasts more than five minutes with that voltage I'll be surprised.

its not stable, as stated in my first post.

It's early days yet i may bring the vcore down a bit and retest but i'm all Orthos'd out at the moment.

Oh and i'm pretty sure coretemp is over reading the temps.
