Already ran Orthos for 10+ hrs Kirth but I forgot to get a screenie, hence why I am doing it again :)

As far as temps go, 56c full Orthos load in quite a hot room.

Demon.

Any chance of another screenie?

4.5ghz prime stable would be something I'm interested in.

Longer than a few seconds.:)

A whole 10c more heat to the cpu when running small TFT over blend at the same vcore and cooling.

Blend was 55c
Small FFT 65c

According to those screenies.

The blend screenie above seems to me to indicte that there is very little difference in the temps, both ~65c

55c was the temps @4.05Ghz

What sort of voltages are you guys using at 4ghz? And what dividers? I'm at 1.392 VCore and running at 3.7ghz. Should I use x8 or x9? FSB over Multiplier?

I cant hit 4.5Ghz using the 8x multi, my board does not like anything over 500FSB :(

Your VID will be a bit lower because your running x8 multi instead of x9.

I thought VID stayed constant no matter what multi you use?
Its still shows 1.0375 on the 6x multi

Just built a new pc for a friend, e8400, maximus formula and 2x2gb g skill. I am really impressed, straight in at 3.6gz with 1.225v. Very low temps with the ultra 120 extreme had to take one of the fan bays from his stacker door though. The real pain was pulling my pc apart to get my e6600 out so we could flash the motherboards bios to 0907 for 45nm support, i really wish this was made clearer on both manufacturer and etailers product descriptions. will push for 4ghz over the next few days, hes no overclocker so i may settle around the 3.8ghz mark. These wolfdales are great clockers :)

Sounding good JeffyB. Should be able to set at 4Ghz no problem and if it fails then just knock it down to 3.8Ghz. 4Ghz is just so nice to pass up :D.

Yeah its very tempting, still hes more than happy with it but i think he likes bigger numbers as well. I have finished rebuilding my pc as well, was good timing as most of my fans and tt120 were getting quite dusty. Quick 1m super pi on the new pc was over in 13.3 seconds, not bad for a 5 second overclock.

Same as Jeffyb increase my fsb to get beyond 3.8ghz and loose the hard drive controller etc failed reboot,,

Only increased my fsb so far is there anything else I can do to make it stable at 4 ghz !

posters comments about these chips being great overclockers seems abit over the top to me. surley to be labeled with that, you would be thinking they could get to at least 1.5ghz over stock with ease on low volts and not get as hot as they are being reported by forum members.
Take the 6300/6400 and the 2160/80s now they are getting much better overclocks from stock speeds with nice temps and these are 65nm.
my 6300 runs 3430 all day long and if I had a bigger case and some better cooling on my board it would do 3500.
this is a 1.6ghz overclock anyway.
I am hoping there is a refresh as I would like to see these sort of speed increase's.
I know some are getting there, but not as many as I hoped, dissapointed really as I want to get one, but to make it worth it to me I would want to be seeing 4.5ghz.
Maybee thats greedy but thats bang for buck to me.
Ready to get hammered for my comments now, but thats the way I see it with these new Wolfdales.
