I didn't say what I want from a phone is all that matters.
MobileMe? Really? That service is rubbish, I used to pay for it..god knows why, Google do all the syncing stuff for free. I started using that on my iPhone and it worked identically. As for iTunes...I guess if you're heavily invested in it that can be an issue, but I thought they dropped the DRM? So you can now use iTunes music on any device...hmm yeah I fail to see why iTunes and MobileMe are considered something it lacks.
I was personally so happy to be rid of iTunes. The syncing is so archaic in that you are stuck to the same iTunes library ID, so if I reformat my PC I have to format my phone too as it won't let me sync from the phone to PC, only PC to phone. Idiotic decisions. I've never tried it on my Mac so I'm not sure if that works the same way.
iCloud will be MobileMe's saving grace, that's if they decide to tack it onto that.
Lol you can't seriously be judging market share based on your area...that is ridiculous.
Your entire post lists things which are either opinion or not the case.
1. MobileMe works fine and this is why I pay for it. Google does not do everything MM does and it doesn't work all the time as demonstrated by my mate [and a few people in another thread] who uses it for his 3GS.
2. I can dual sync between my MP and MBP using my iPhone. This means if I'm not at home I can still sync my iPhone and when the MBP gets back software syncs the library back to my Mac Pro and everything is just as it should be. No reformatting my phone or anything.
3. iTunes works fine for me and I'm still using the library that I started back in 2005 on a PowerMac G4 using 10.3!
This setup works for me, and does exactly what I want with the minimum of fuss, why the hell would I give that up for Android which is basically the same give or take in every other area?

I think it's best we leave it there because I don't think we will agree on this...
Finally, your link only shows smartphones, smartphones:non-smartphones which here are in about a 50/50 ratio. Although I am in a university environment so therefore the iPhone get's picked because it's "cool" apparently!
