** The Official WWDC 2011 Thread **

I don't see that they will do that (I still don't get the advantage of having that on a blackberry) - but I guess we'll have to see.

A notification LED? Being able to glance at your phone and know if you have a message/missed call is very useful. I can't think of anyone that wouldn't want it.

Seems just as easy for me to press the power or home button and see my list of notifications on the lock screen. I wouldn't want an LED blinking at me all the time (At least they give you the option to turn it off).

But the idea that they have given you the option to turn it off, says to me they won't include a seperate LED. Otherwise, then if you turn it off, you have an LED on your phone which then becomes useless. Just not Apples style.

Quick question,

My friend is a has developer access, could I give him my UDID code and he can registrar my phone under his license?
Will this allow me access to the beta?

Thanks

Fairly sure that won't work unfortunately :(

Im on a 3GS using 3.1.3 and ive had notifications on my locklscreen thanks to Lockinfo for a very long time now.

I love how apple can rip off android and lockinfo with its new super dooper notification rubbish and some how make it look "revolutionary". What planet are they on????

Apple, always playing catch up!

Always playing catch up?
Have you looked at androids version of iTunes, oh wait they don't have one. No legal way to obtain media.
Oh quality produced apps.
Apple and android have come from to very different angles and are meeting in the middle. Apple takes ideas and refines them, just compare icloud to things like dropbox.
Revolutionary hell no, but it's just marketing.

Indeed and people say that its only BBM that make them want to go to Blackberry....its actually the LED light on a BB that makes it more appealing.

On my 9780 i have an app called bebuzz which allows me to set different colours for all my notifications...hell i even have a disco light led ie gives off a strobe light effect for my BBM's...but even my most used contacts have a separate led light for them so i dont need to even look at my screen...i just know via my led light what message or who is calling me....bloody awesome that is.

Yeah my 3GS gets a new lease of life. I want a retina display though, but sod's law says if I get an iPhone 4 then the next one will come out shortly after.

I'm possibly going to be picking up an iPhone 4 tonight unlocked brand new cash on collection but I notice how much the iPhone 3GS prices are pushed down on ebay. Looks like an iPhone 3GS won't go for any more than 170 now and they were a lot more not long ago.

Erm. No legal way to obtain media? Are you saying iTunes is the only way to get music, video, podcasts?

You may have a point when it comes to video content, but for everything else you're sorely mistaken. Either that or you fail at using the Internet to source things. (legally)

Quality produced apps? There's a lot of fantastic apps on Android that are quality products, a lot of them are even completely free. Go and Google Remote Web Desktop, sorry that's a genius idea and works incredibly well.

You know for all the things I can slate Android for the two reasons you gave there are pretty bottom of the barrel stuff.

Just chatted to MobileMe support.

You can cancel your account but then you loose access & loose that email forever (i.e. it won't be carried over to the cloud).

However you can get pro-rata refunds if you so wish.

Closer to the launch date of iCloud I will try and see if I can cancel, get a refund and then get my email back...

I'd quite like some more info on the Safari improvements because I find it is lacking majorly to Chrome and Firefox right now.

I wish they could somehow kill off Adobe Flash too. It heats my MacBook up so damn much and completely obliterates battery.
