*** The Official X1950 Pro Thread ***

Mine started to rattle about a month after I got it. Applied for an RMA on Thurs, shipped on Fri. OC acknowledged receipt Sat, new card shipped on Mon, arrived on Tues. So far, no rattle. I was impressed. And they agreed to refund my postage too. Great service.

I pushed my fan a bit harder on to the gfx card and the rattle is more or less gone now.

I got an RMA number but don't think I will send it back now the noise is almost completly gone and the little odd noise that comes out I can live with. I cant live without a gfx card again as 2 months was enough to drive me insane :)

If it starts to give me to much hassle down the line I will buy a new one and keep this one as a spare to keep me going incase of emergency, selling of my old kit was good to get money but when something breaks and you dont have any spares was a nightmare.

Hi all.
I wanna buy a HIS ATI Radeon X1950 Pro ICEQ 3 TURBO 512MB GDDR3
but I little bit scare because i saw few messages where people said they bought a card from OcUK and card has a problems.
So if i bought a card from OcUk and card wan't work properly they change it to me?

And second quastion is:
Are this card work with this machine?

Abit Fatal1ty an8 motherboard. Here is motherborad info.
Amd 64 4200+ x2 dual core processor.
600W OVERCLOCKERS PSU MASSIVLEY POWERFULL. Here is link to psu info.
LG Flaton Monitor.
And just 512mb of rams.

Sorry for my bad English.

Welcome to the forums. :)

I wouldn't risk an x1950pro on a cheap PSU like that, you would be much better off getting a decent branded one, also these guys will replace the x1950pro if it found to be faulty, but i would personally stay away from the HIS and get another brand as the HIS x1950pro's are absolutely terrible, theres loads of them faulty, id remove that link to the PSU as well as that will be classed as a competitor which is not allowed, and you would really benefit from more memory to, 512mb is very low these days, 2gb is the norm now. :)

What is a miniumum wats?
Hi there, you should really make a new thread (in General Hardware) regarding PSU questions, if you spend some time reading (or use the search key) you should find a lot of useful info :)

Hi,

I ran 3Dmark05 and got about 9800 on this card. What is everyone else getting?

Current spec: 146 @ 2ghz, DFI expert, 2gb g.skill. Ill see what I get when I ramp the opty up to 3ghz.

Cheers

at 2.5ghz on the cpu and the card stock (622/743) i get 10157

at the same 2.5ghz and the card at 668/810 i get 10928

so i'd say yours is about right ;)

how come? I got one from HIS and it is working perfectly

by the way, it's the "Rev.2" card, with Samsung -1.2ns GDDR3 :D

edit: default clocks are 590/1540 ;)

Fairly speaking, I found that the quality of RV570XT chipset is dropping continuously!

From the 1st batch of Asus cards I was easily to obtain 640MHz+ core clock.
and then later I got another card for crossfire and it is not even able to run >600MHz, alone!

so it is quite logical and reasonable that both Sapphire and HIS have their oc edition clocked at under 600MHz core, while using better and faster vRAM for boosting the performance. They must be suffering quite badly from the high core -speed strategy.

from the time the RV570GT is out, I know they must be those QC-failed chips of 1950 PRO, no wonder the 1950 PRO chips now are worse than those 1st-2nd batch.
