*** The Official Xbox One Thread ***

I just got a free xbox s purchasing a surface book. I already have the normal one. I don't have a 4k tv yet and no plans to buy right now as my current 1080p screen is quite new and very nice.

I'll put one in my bedroom for the media side. Is there any benefit to switching over to the S on my main TV or just put it upstairs?

I use the xbox as the main media device for TV (virgin goes through it as well as all the related apps) and music

The benefits are;

Smaller
No power brick
Better pad (suppose this would be subjective)
Slight FPS bump on some games

So yeah nothing massive if you're not going 4K.

Just a heads up.

Lost Odyssey is free until 31 December to celebrate 300 backwards compatible xbox 360 games.

Great turnbased game! Proper nod to the Final Fantasy series. Awesome story with challenging puzzles and story/plot adds. I remember getting stuck at one point with some boss knight type of enemy I had to beat to get through some forest - wiped so many times! Grinding the regular random adds were giving literally no exp so I'd exhausted the area of tangible gains.

Strategy and setup was quite key to ensuring you succeded against the bosses.

Some wimpy knight you obtain in golden armour midway through the story was a also a very memorable character.

Will probably pick this up to play again.

Just picked up a One S today, and have an odd problem. The power lead does not appear to connect securely to the pins in the port on the back of the console.

It's as if the the pins are being blocked from going all in the way in, and the cable ends up just hanging loosely on the pins.

The console will still power on like this, but I presume this is not right? I plan to return it to the shop tomorrow for an exchange, but found it odd that I couldn't find this issue on Google.

I'm going to pick one up this week as well. I realise Scorpio will be out in 12 months but I was considering buying a UHD blu ray player and considering you can buy an Xbox S for just over £200 it doesn't make sense to buy a standalone player. Looking forward to playing horizon as the PS4 is seriously lacking in the driving department!

Horizon is awesome, a truly fantastic game. The first expansion came out last week for it as well, which is also great :)
