*** The Official Xbox One Thread ***

Microsoft are probably trying to work out the specifics of it (who caused it, how, how to prevent in future) and then discussing what to do next with their own marketing team and Ubisofts. It will look bad for both, especially during the season of goodwill where a game about hacking has been hacked. Ubi may take the hit, turn around and say "you know what, fair play, Merry Christmas" but then this is ubi, so prob not!

Just setup an Xbox One S so its ready for christmas day, i am assuming that this fan noise isn't normal. This is with my phone directly over the top of the fan but if I am sat around 3ft away you can still hear it.

It is like the fan is rattling inside.

Can't make much out the URL, but if the fan sounds wrong its probably broken.

Best to return to retailer or MS do exchange program which is good. Look back at my previous post for info

Sorry about that, my phone isn't quite capturing it well enough. There is a definite rattle though.

Ok, thanks mate. Very frustrating with this being a christmas present an all!

Not much of a console user myself but got the girlfriend an Xbox One S for Christmas. Her friends play Black Ops 3 so I'll get that for her, but she said something about there used to be an offer where if you got BO3 you also got BO1 with it?

Mine sounded like that, if you google it, a lot of people had the same issues. Just seems like MS used rubbish fans, more of a quality issue than the fan about to fail.

In the early days of the xbox S release it seemed to be potluck if you would get a silent fan.

Im not sure if MS have fixed the issue yet?

Take it back if your not happy and hope you get a better one.

I had 2 with noisy fan before I finally got a quiet one. Take it back or Microsoft so a advance exchange where they take a deposit. Should have it within a week tops

Got a Xbox One S the other day, but getting very slow speeds installing games :( making it very frustrating.

I have a 200Mb/s VM line and when my downloads start they sit around 170/190 for a few minutes then drop to 40 then sit at 10Mb/s until complete.

Is this a issue with the Xbox Servers? :(

Nope, its always been like that. PSN is worse.

Had a very strange One S issue

been using it for a few months with no issue, particularly playing Horizon 3.

Recently got my first UHD BR's (including The Shallows and Star Trek Into Darkness)

Watched The Shallows all the way through with no issue at all , turned off console overnight as normal.
Next day I try and watch Star Trek and every few seconds the display flickers as if HDMI is losing connection (this happens with multiple cables) - so I thought - hmm unlikely but possible faulty disc.....put the Shallows back in and its now happening with this disc also.

Put Deadpool (UHD 4k) on and its perfectly ok.....watch half of it and then press eject (just to prove to myself issue has gone) - reinsert the same disc and display continually flickers again, and does so for other two discs as well

Just to see what it would do with a couple of standard BR's I also tried these (that I know are working perfectly ) and the same issue arises.

Horizon 3 is still working perfectly - and even a month ago or whenever it came out I remember getting the generic HDR patch which applied successfully as far as I know (although H3 doesnt look that different really).

Anyone got any ideas?

(I did clear something deep in the menus after this appeared about physical disc retention cache or something like that, but this made no difference
