Guys, A quick bit of help if you can! I got an Xbox One S for Christmas, but am having a few problems.

There is no video output with DVD/Bluray when the console is 4k with my Samsung 4k TV, I get sound but no video. If I change it to 1080p in the xbox settings it returns and works fine. Then the xbox prompts to turn on 4k when in the user interface. Is this normal?

Hope that makes some kind of sense!

Is the HDMI port set as UHD and what mode do you have running (HDR, Game etc)

Also stupid question but do you have the blu-ray player app installed on your XB1S?

In the early days of the xbox S release it seemed to be potluck if you would get a silent fan.

Im not sure if MS have fixed the issue yet?

Take it back if your not happy and hope you get a better one.

Had a nightmare with taking it back and getting a new one. Ended up with a refund, purchased one from Amazon and it has just arrived. Same noise :(

Does anyone have a link to the exchange thingy that was mentioned earlier in the thread or do I just start a support chat with Microsoft and go from there?

I am thinking of swapping it with Microsoft rather than Amazon.

Anyone else had problems getting their xbox to output 5.1 sound?

My Xbox is plugged directly into the sound system by HDMI and all settings in the xbox settings are right (HDMI, 5.1 etc)

Playing games, speaking to anyone directly in front of me basically mutes them, so i have to look at the side of them for the sound to come out of 1 of the side speakers.

Netflix on the xbox, i only get background noises, no voices.

Netflix on the TV works perfectly on 5.1 along with anything on a USB. Its just the Xbox having trouble doing 5.1

I think this noise is just normal with the newer console, but hopefully MS fix it with future revisions, this console should be silent as can be, considering its heavily focused on the media side of things as well. I think some people hear the noise more than others but I believe its there on all the consoles.

Chat to MS support, think its called advanced exchange.
 
What became of all you people who downloaded Watchdogs 2 for "free" last month?

Is your copy still working or did Microsoft chase it up and remove it?
 
I know the red Xbox One controller was only just announced, but does anyone know when it will be released in the UK?

Also, only if we are allowed to link it here, but anyone know the best place for custom controllers with 100% official parts?

it would be cool, but the games can be bought for £1.50 or so.

Tried BC2 online last night, people were playing which was great, but my god does it feel old, the two rounds i did were spawn traps and the guys clearly had played for a while as knew the spawn points and you could barely move.

Hopefully pick up a copy of BF3 Today so i can play that again.

Assuming nothing wrong with your Internet connection (think it downloads latest version during reset) then not that long.

I'd try process again
