I got the update to the new dashboard tonight (preview ring). First impressions are I don't like it.

it's way better then old dash.just takes time to learn everything again.

just needs few more tweaks, features they added last few years always looked stuck on.

New dash everything fits in really well.

i wish they remove xbox games with gold, replace with extra few used games

remove huge text next to game/app i'm using

allow me to change 3 icons next to current game/app

So MS are upping the resolution for Game DVR to 1080p now.
And you can plug in a second HDD (not the same one you use for app/game installs) to save clips directly to the HDD for easy to transfer to PC. When you use this setup, you can also record for up to 1 hour in a single clip.

Available whenever the next big firmware comes out - probably November.

I tested today, loads of stuff being added at the moment, but dash very unstable and needs time. I hope they can pull off every feature or they will drop features to hit the date

Anyone have issues with the Bluray player on the Xbone? It's pot luck wether or not it works, brand new disks are not recognised in the drive bay.

This is really awesome news. I've looked into targeting UWP from UE4 in the past but the old constraints totally gimped it.

I was going to get an XB1 controller anyway, but now I can use the XB1 for development, it's a no brainer, gonna get me a cheap xb1s.

Couldn't wait though I won't be playing it for a while. Price felt OK so I've bought Cuphead and pre-downloaded. Also bagged Fortnite Battle Royale I'll give that a go later.

Can i use any kind of external hard drive with the Xbox?

I have one of the original Xbox One's and the 500gb drive fills up really easily. Given i've just bought Forza 7 as a download i imagine i'll struggle!

I have an old WD 2tb MyBook as long as i can find the charger. Will that be ok?

Otherwise i could pull a 2tb drive out of my server. Is it possible to install that? Will go googling now!
