Good thanks dude. We moved back to the UK around 3 weeks ago now, we've both got jobs sorted (I start in 2 weeks) and move into a house in about 5 weeks. Canada was amazing, if you ever get a chance to visit Vancouver, then do it, it's an amazing city :)
 
I think the disc drive in my console might be dying or faulty. It took me about 10 attempts earlier to get it to read my BF4 disc. Each time I put it in the drive would just make a click/clunk sound and stop, like its failing to grab the disc the disc or something. It certainly doesn't sound healthy.

Anyone else experience anything like this? I'll probably give Microsoft a ring on Monday morning!

I had the same problem. MS sent a replacement out roughly a week later and collected mine with the drop off. I also got to choice a free digital game from a list of about 4. Zoo tycoon, Ryse, Dead rising and something else I forget.
 
One arrived today, first impressions are the pad feels very nice, better than the 360 one. The D pad actually feels like it would work as well, whereas the D pad on the 360 pad was gash.

Got Dead Rising 3 physical which is downloading a huge 12GB path, and TitanFall, BF4, Kinect Sports Rivals and Ryse queued as digital copies.

Quite liking it so far, the interface etc :)
 
Apologies if this has been already posted in the thread but for the past few days, ive noticed that when i turn my xbox one on then go to play Forza5 it doesnt read the disc...i have push the eject button then re-insert the disc in order for it to play. Ive checked the disc and there is no scratches or anything on it, gave it a wipe but still wont play if i leave the disc in the xbox when i turn it off. It comes up with a message saying please insert disc etc etc...disc is in the drive.

Been noticing it for the past few days, before that it was perfectly fine ie disc is in the machine and when i turn it on and say go to forza5 it would automatically start up. Dont know if the preview updates have messed it up as ive been getting the preview updates.

Anyone else notice this or is it just me??

Yes it's a problem most people in the preview program are having. Not just with forza but with all discs. Was supposed to be fixed in the last update but it isn't.
 
Yea software glitch it would seem, only experienced it once or twice and got it working if I swapping a game disc, turned the machine off at the plug and botted back up.

I tried it the other week and it works quite well, you can use the smartglass app as a remote and change the channels on your sky box. It's pretty cool using voice commands to change the volume on your tv and if your tv is in standby mode, turning your xbox on will also turn your tv on. The only issue I had was I found the PQ to be poor and it juddered a bit whilst watching football.

Is the smartglass app any better to use than the sky+ app though?
 
guys,

quick question. one of my controllers died. doesn't power on. have raised a ticket with Microsoft who have now sent me an email telling me to send the controller to them and they will send me a replacement. I also got another email with a ups tracking number on it.

I'm not sure what to do next. Do I arrange for a courier to take my controller to the service centre? or will MS arrange to pick it up?

Most of that I am already using. "xbox on" will turn on the console, my TV and my AV. And I haven't seen any judder since they added the 60Hz option. It's really the channel changing that I am after.

Hopefully it will work with my YouView box. Have they implemented the voice control for changing channel? Like can you say "xbox go to BBC 1".

i received mine at the weekend. I really wanted it to be the centre of the entertainment system. To be honest i am a little disappointed. Maybe you guys can help.

I plugged in my sky box and was watching the football and the PQ was awful. Woden - you mentioned a 60Hz option, where would I find this?

When I initially switched it on I got the xbox splashscreen then it went to black screen. After about 30 minutes of trying to reset it to 640x480 it finally booted and i was able to switch it to 1080p.

The One guide doesn't seem to work with the sky box. Is it something i've done wrong?

My daughter loved the demo of Zoo Tycoon - but when I looked it up to purchase it's £50 !! Are there cheaper places to buy these games online elesewhere?

I really also really liked Titanfall - and had a quick go at the campaign. There was no chat working at all when i plugged in my headset. Again - have i missed something? I thought this was something online that people worked as a team and talked strategy etc.

I am in work so can't check but it is under a troubleshooting option, under TV I think?

The OneGuide isn't available in the UK yet, unless you are in the beta preview.

Zoo Tycoon will be cheaper as a actual physical disc rather than through the XB1 store. Shop around you will find it £35-£40 new.
