**The one and only Official BioShock Thread**- now with added **SPOILERS**

The PC system requirements are on the first page, so you should play it pretty well. Maybe not maxed at that resolution. PCGamer played it maxed on a 8800GTS 320mb at a fairly high res and it was smooth consistantly.

One might even say that the decision to not put a few more man hours into the PC demo so it came out at the same time as the 360 one was a bit...Irrational.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Just got the 360 demo and all I can say is... I cant wait for the PC demo ;) It's a lot of fun but the controls will be better on the PC imo

Agreed.......however on the 42" lcd with my 5.1 amp on it is uneffing believable. The sounds will have you bricking it from the instant you arrive in Rapture. Roll on August 24th, can't wait.

I think so as well, I was very surprised that it's actually very easy to aim/play using the pad, seems very optimized.

I thought it was pretty bad to aim with on the pad, this is the only game that I've really been fussed about using a keyboard/mouse for actually.

A few people are thumb challenged it seems ;)

Absolutely no trouble with the controls here - it's one of the better implemented fps on a console that i've played, infact, and running about getting headshots was a breeze. From playing through the demo a few times I can't see how it would be any better at all with a mouse, yet losing analogue movement and trigger buttons would detract a little from the experience. Either way, both versions are going to be fantastic and we should be happy that both 360 and pc owners get to play.

Very cool demo btw. Order cancelled and special edition with Big Daddy model added :)

The mere thought of going through that agonizing frustrating
experience of playing a fps on a gamepad again brings shivers to me timbers.
Only did it for halo never again.

Just takes practise. I've a mate who only games on the pc and hates using a pad. He runs about shooting the ceiling, walls, floor - more like he's trying to hold an out of controll fire hose than a gun. Of course, he blames the controller rather than admitting he's just crap with it :)

Guys, the PC demo is simply not ready. The pc development was always a bit behind because we had more time to finish things (no submission to MS). The PC game will therefore have a bit more polish (and a couple more features like turning off loot highlight options) that 360 doesn't have.

It'll be out as soon as possible.

From Ken himself. ;)

This game, going by the demo and the intro has finally surpassed Half-Life imo.

Just hope the full game does just that, it's been a along time waiting.

pffft, half life may have been good back then, but its been surpassed plenty of times.

I can't think of anything that has surpassed it, not in terms of gameplay, atmosphere, enemies and just something special about it. Only game I ever stayed up really late playing through the single player mode just to finish it, I couldn't walk away.
