The ONE AND ONLY ***OFFICIAL*** Crysis thread - SPOILERS!

I'm a bit bored now, on the Paradise Lost level.

This is like Far Cry to me, the monsters ruined the enjoyment IMO. Except the monsters in this case are Alien things.

Just wanted to make a post to voice my pain.

I bought an 8800GT to play Crysis (amongst other things of course)

I RMAd it, two weeks ago.

My Crysis Special Edition arrived this morning (wasn't expecting a Special Edition box - only paid £19.99, or are they ALL special edition?) ;)

So now I have my Crysis sitting here.
And still waiting for more stock of the BFG 8800GT OC, so I can play it.

Waaaah!

Ah well, box looks nice though, though 'tis a bit big to fit on a DVD rack ;)

PS If I don't get an 8800GT back soon, I may have to take the refund route, and see about getting a new model of 8800GTS instead, see how that does in Crysis ;) .... naaaaa, I just want my 8800GT back ASAP so I can play it.
 
I don't know whether to just jump into the game in high settings and go through it like that, or to do a whole lot of teaking first to get it just right for me.
 
Am i the only one who gets seriously frustrated when the flying matrix type aliens mount up and start firing there jizz at you ! Im playing the game on Hard and it just gives me a hiding when this happens. Lol.

Going by this thread it seems hard on the old computer.

Johnson: Why was quad not used in the final build of the game, and when can we expect to see it utilized in the game?
Cevat: The game does use quad-core but you won't see the benefit without a good GPU.

Just keeping strafing/circling around them while shooting, worked well for me

The thing I don't get about this statement is that the CPU usage is very low. How is getting a faster GPU going to increase the load on the CPU to any major degree?

Surely, if this game was going to be causing a heavy load on CPU it would already be doing so?
 
I completed it too on normal.

I got to say its the best SP game to date for me, much better than COD4, GOW etc..

There were points where I thought i wasn't going to get any further especially in the aliens layre.

Just got my copy, was expecting it take take 7 days to come! Even better I paid £19 and it's the special edition! YEAH BABY!

However, I'm trying my best not to install it, must do this assignment :(
 
Mine arrived today too. Only played a bit but so far its great :D Need to buy a new graphics card though really
 
anyone else having issues with crysis? mines crashed 3 times so far, and the dvd seems to have issues in my drive :/
 
I had to lower the gfx detail to all low for that last bit, which was a shame as I was getting 1fps otherwise.

Hmm, I got a nasty clicking sound from the dvd when I first put it in, not taken out since, but I am concerned of future problems. No crashed though. Runs smoothly with ultra high dx9 config settings
