If you read the crysis readme file when you install it mentions that it uses multiple cores.
Ive seen pictures of people bitten by hippos. Now thats nasty. With teeth about 6" in diameter its like being holepunched.
Its just positive banter that could be implimented into the Sandbox 2 editor in the future
Btw, what animal would you rather be killed by?
Siberian Tiger - they just look so cool.
It is a bug in the game apparently - the TAC gun should start locking as soon as you point it in the vicinity of the target after pressing the right mouse button - you should see a progress bar. If it does nothing then you'll need to go back to an earlier save and try it again.

Using an earlier save game fixed my issue of not been able to use the TAC gun. I just loaded up the autosave made when the creature is just about to rise from the sea.
Ive just slaughtered about 20 chickens in the village, was unavoidable as the damn things were running aboot clucking all over the place getting in me way.
Just finished-that was immense! Not the greatest FPS ever, but still darn fun-the first parts for the tactics and nanosuit, the later, alien bits for the sheer adrenaline rushes, like the first fight on the flight deck which was simply amazing. Only disappointment was the Core level.
You could have 700 cores and the game would run no faster, the framerate is nearly entirely dictated by the incredibly heavy GPU workload, the CPU is virtually irrelevant. Nothing more than an average dual-core is needed. The CPU can't help with rendering, it's all done by the GPU.But surely if it was using all 4 cores you would get better performance as then you can do more physics calculations? And in some areas with LOTS of action like helicopters, jets, tanks and lots of enemys you get a big slow down.
Agreed, it's was ****** amazing. I was just blown away by the alien spaceship and carrier levels. For me it sets a new standard for the scale of action and drama you can have in an FPS game, and of course for how amazing it can look.Just finished Crysis, what an experience, what a game. Wow
Awesome awesome game can't wait for the next.

There is a way to get Very High in XP, you have to change some settings in some cfg files as described here: http://www.tweakguides.com/Crysis_13.htmlHi iv'e just installed and ran Crysis.
Im running it in windows xp pro.
When i go to graphic settings, the "very High" options are couloured in grey, and i cannot select them.
Am i right in thinking that this is for DX10?
Im trying to be careful not too read any spoilers in this thread but thats almost inevitable. So sorry if this has been asked before, but how would my system cope with running the game with settings on high?
AMD 4400+ X2 with 1mb cache per core - Stock speed
512MB X1900XT
2GB ram (dual channel) - 200mhz bus speed
WD Raptor HDD
My monitors native resolution is 1280*1024 but I could compromise and play Crysis at 1024*768. Some AA / multi-samping would be nice.
Will my system hack that? I wouldnt be happy with any extend periods (30 seconds or more) with 20 FPS or less. Generally I would like 30+ and to enjoy the settings at high for a more rounded gaming experience. Is this going to happen or should I hold out for a while and upgrade my system to a next gen DX10 card?
