The ONE AND ONLY ***OFFICIAL*** Crysis thread - SPOILERS!

Multiplayer games are different. They usually have balancing issues. But single player is a contained thing that every one experiences the same way. Come on you cannot fight for patches. Patches are bad really. I love them myself I like it when some thing gets changed. But there are a lot of game makers that think its ok to get the game out before its ready to start making money. X3 being one of those to name one of many.

TF2 is a very well made game, they've been spending like a decade on it so it should be.

And yes I solidly stand by my opinion that a good game should have one or no patches. Such as crysis for example there have been people posting in this thread saying they won't play it till its patched. They could have played and finished many times over by now if it had been done properly. Why should they have to wait for a patch to play when its been released for ages now.

WEll a lot of patches are just for hardware that games where never tested on or because new drivers fuddle with the game or because some driver for some hardware they nether tested doesn't like it etc, it would take a year or two to test it on all the weird things people run it on, and by then there will be new stuff out.

You shouldn't talk like that it makes the game makers think its ok to release a game unfinished. Saying 4 patches isn't much is bad. A well made game should need none or one at the most.

I completed bioshock before it was patched and didn't find any issues other then the sound one. Now thats quite well made.

lol never played much before patch so started with patch and its worse bunch of overpowered plasmids all for 1 adam cost in it :(

Well my 2p worth...

Just finished this, Great game tbh... Better than HL2

All hardware left on default and all game settings on High...

Got between 30 - 40FPS

With a few spikes of major lag....
But a very enjoyable game

Thats right but there are a lot of games released that aren't that way. I just thought of another very good example. Vampire: the masquerade bloodlines. That was a very poor release, it must have been half finished. Theres not really any way you can argue that patches are good except for hardware, balancing and adding extras.

Thats enough on the subject really, side tracking abit.

From what i heard around Jan 08 first to second week but you know what ea is like 1 to 2 weeks basically means 1 month to them.Im guessing Ea wont tell Crtek to release the patch until Crysis gets better sales after all Crysis sales atm dont look very good at all that might explain a little why the patch is delayed ;)

That makes no sense. Nobody would delay a patch until games sales increased... if anything, a patch would increase sales once word gets around that the game runs better (assuming it does run better)

If ther work has been done, then it will be realeased. They won't hold off on that simply cause sales arent as high as they hoped.

As has been said - that makes no sense whatsoever.

The game needs patching to increase performance and reliability.

People will then buy it as won't destroy their uber computers :p

How is this patch gonna make this game run massively better will a increase of 2-3 fps after the patch make people go out and buy it ?

Can't belive it was only a few months ago we had the Crysis demo and then people saying the retail will run better than the demo and what a lie that was. :D

Well they've stated that this patch will focus on performance issues. If by that they mean 2-3fps then God help them, as the community will be in uproar.

Oh and we still have no patch...
