The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

I very very very much doubt, he doesn't know what he is doing, he didn't become the richest person in the world by not knowing what he was doing.

I see you have no comprehension of how the world works.

The world is packed full of rich people who have no in idea what they are doing.

But they know somebody who does.
So twitter was a total success before the take over and didn't need any changes?

With all those minds, they all knew somebody who does based on what you've said...

Mean while, looking at the actions of Elon, it looks like he doesn't know what he's doing.

I was first for the charging of the blue tick, but now I've seen reasons against it. Twitter is nothing but a site with content that is created by it's users, and now it's going to charge the likes of stephan King, Stephen Spielberg to create content for them, so that users come and view that content that twitter has charged to be created, and then put adverts to those users.

The £20 needs to represent something more as a result. What is it going towards. Why are they paying it and why is it better for them than not paying.

Why would he delete it? He owns the company now, no one can censor him. If he believed in the tweet 2 hours ago he should stand by it now. What a coward.

Because he is a horrible person.

Deleting something makes him a horrible person?

If he'd left it up some people would be criticizing that too, surely taking it down is the right thing to do no?

Your correct there are plenty of people without a clue, but they are in a position to know the people who would know.

I am also not talking about all the rich people, I am talking about one specifically.

No doubt plenty of people making millions purely by luck, but there are also just as many that do it through hard work and determination, and once you reach a certain point of wealth the only work you ever need to do from then on is tell other people what you want, and they will do it.

I think the point is he posted it because he thought it was funny. A man had just been beaten over the head with a hammer and Musk thought it was funny to spread a CT on the company he owns and likely delighted in the reaction to his tweet. He probably only took it down because people close to him told him he was out of order spreading such nonsense and he caved. For all his intelligence I think he thinks its all a game, that he can play with people/society and there are no real world effects.

Not posting it in the first place is the right thing to do.

People have weirdly short term memories for stuff like this. The fact it's deleted doesn't really matter as there will be 1000's of screenshots of it and these will all be posted ad nauseum and go toward making the story seem more "viable", because it was tweeted by the head of Twitter and he's a "genius" so couldn't possibly be wrong.

Especially 12 months down the line when idiots are still reposting it, even though we now know most of the facts with the current news report means the Conspiracy theory is exactly that - complete fabricated rubbish.

It doesn't mean they listen though. Wealth and power can also breed arrogance. Just because you are an expert in one field doesn't mean that crosses over to any field and he not only has zero experience in social media he is likely on the spectrum which means he isn't like 99% of the users of that service.

Something I didn't know until reading that thread is that Musk didn't even start Tesla. I assumed it was his baby.

He bought in to it in a big way, and then years later there was a lawsuit which subsequently allowed himself to be named as a co-founder, even though the company was founded a year prior to his involvement.

No, but it was him that took it from a 3 employee company to the most valued car company in the world?
