Where have I ignored that? Do you honestly not understand how gardening leave/severance works? You effectively can instantly get rid of people it's just you pay them for the notice period they'd otherwise have to work, it's not that hard to follow surely?
How does removing access to e-mails/laptops negate that? That can literally be the way people find out - turn up at say a bank's office and your pass doesn't work, that doesn't mean you won't get severance/gardening leave!
No, I'm just pointing out the obvious - you don't seem to be aware of gardening leave, a blue checkmark lawyer not in possession of the facts and positing a "what if" scenario on twitter != this actually is what happened, the literal CEO of the company is more likely to know!
