I think the funniest thing about that picture is that the right wing lot think they were always the people with me on, the moving centre but in reality they have always been the people on the right and are just going further right.

Even dowie thinks he is centre ground.

The funny thing about that image is it's almost the reverse of the Truth...

Many of the "progressive" and "far left" politicians in the US have positions that are close to the Republican ones pre Reagan.

Here is a clue, conservatism (i.e. right wing) is about conserving, i.e. slow to change, not progressive, lets call it virtually staying put..
Progressivism is about progressing, i.t. to deliberately and constantly change..

So if one is relatively staying still, and the other is constantly changing, does that help you understand why that diagram is the way it is?

You do know, that most arguments are about 'change'??? i.e. "We never thought it appropriate to have lewd sex acts in books given to young children, so we don't think doing that now is appropriate either.. " should not be met with the argument "But these are gay sex acts, so you are a bigot if you don't accept this, you homophobe".

Here is your first problem. That isnt what is happenng.

The right have made a massive shift to being openly further right.

I suppose you could say the right have gone back to the 'good old days' that sociaty left behind decades ago only for frothy right wings to stand up for racism.

So back in 2008, racism was a term embued on the act of identifying people by their skin colour and treating you differently based on that..
In 2021, racism is a term embued on someone that doesn't want to identify people by their skin colour and wants to treat them all equally...

Was that a right wing idea was it?

Jeremy Corbyn has been photographed at events with some unsavioury people, does that mean all labour supporters think the same way?

I don't like Trump AND I don't like Biden, they are as bad as each other (in different ways), but none of those 'ways' are good..
