The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

I was literally going by the content of your messages.

I didn't know the backstory, nor realise it was just a joke about some people trolling the media.

"actually sacked him for real"

This time it wasn't a joke, he ended up getting hired after the fake twitter employee media stunt but has now been sacked.

Still no update to the Forbes article about the increase in bans compared to previous months, why am I not surprised.
If I had to guess, he was probably spreading misinformation about COVID. Which is the reason he was banned by YouTube.
Come on Sankari you can do better than that, If he was spreading covid misinformation he would have been banned outright, not just shadowbanned!
Correct. So Twitter wasn't just targeting conservatives, was it? Glad we got that sorted out at last.
Where did I state they were only targeting conservatives?

lol, just from the links Deuse posted...what rules did Dan Bongino break apart from being right wing? There are no strikes on his account, no rule breaks and yet he was shadowbanned as a simple example. Why do you think that was?

There certainly is a fair bit of cope now, plenty of commentators were dismissive of shadowbanning in the past and now it's been revealed they're like oh, what, yeah everyone knew that was a thing.

Like this staff writer at the Atlantic being called out by some RW Libertarian guy:

Feel free to investigate and provide an update of your own. Has Musk created a brand new anti-child porn team to replace the one he got rid of? Can't wait to hear about that!

Nope. Covid misinformation continued to flourish on Twitter throughout the pandemic, and it's still there today. If anything, it's become worse under Musk.

'COVID-19, vaccine misinformation 'spiking' on Twitter after Elon Musk fires moderators.'

Isn't that the argument you've been defending all this time? If not, then Twitter Files Part 2 really is a nothing burger, just as I said.

:)

Jack Dorsey, 2018:

For some strange reason, conservatives are now pretending Dorsey never posted that thread, and never confirmed its details in a Senate hearing.

It was not algorithms as proven.
So more lies.

yes and it has already been covered in the thread.

So basically you are making up reasons why he was shadow banned with out any evidence instead of looking at the most obvious reason, brilliant. Were you part of twitter's shadow banning team?

Nope, if you've got any evidence of that being my stance I would love to see it.

Lots of it no doubt was but as the files reveal that isn't strictly true, especially as far as some of the prominent accounts are concerned.
Thats exactly the point, it would appear that if their 'AI' could not find a rule break of someone they disagreed with, either politically or ideologically, then they would have a team of people working to suppress their tweets/account.

But it wasn't all lies. Dorsey confirmed in 2018 that shadow banning occurred, and he confirmed it was happening to conservatives (among others).

He also explained that the shadow banning process was automatically performed via algorithm. There was no inherent bias.
Lmao algorithms are written by people of course they can have bias.

This thread is depressing you have sycophants on one side who have their blinkers on.

And on the other side you have people who seem far too gleeful partaking in their “two minutes hate”.

Twitter users:

"The place that i like to post rubbish on the internet on, didn't like the rubbish i posted so they didn't let me post it no more. Am I being oppressed?"

Is it any different to YouTube demonetising people or removing content based off of an automated system deciding what was posted isn't in the interests of the company trying to satisfy dozens of governments/other companies?

I love how arbitrary this gets, "he has too many followers to be allowed an opinion  "
Having an opinion is one thing but him posting on Twitter in the past has had massive effects, just look at what he did with crypto markets with various tweets.

Arguably it's not Musk's fault but it's understandable why some feel he has a lot of sway, due to the shear amount of followers, and that he should show some consideration during his Twitter "thinking" periods.

YouTube like Twitter has many issues with the way it deals with content moderation, hell youtube probably has more to deal with from demonetisation not being applied fairly, its own shadowbanning algorithms, abuse of the copyright strike system, and a fair few others as well.

Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales told Elon Musk it is 'not for sale' after the Twitter owner accused the encyclopaedia of having a left-wing bias

Lets see how long this lasts.
