The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

I think you've confused me with someone who cares about a bit of concrete dust on a beach. I'm happy they went ahead with the launch. Maybe you should launch a rocket and show them how it's done. By the way, finding a good launch spot on the East Coast of the US is next to impossible, that's why things like this happen. There just isn't miles of suitable space to build a space centre that isn't disturbing some form of wild life or is already occupied. Elon spoke about this as well.
You've gone from accusing me of not caring about seals to you admitting you don't give a damn about any environmental damage caused.

No one has to prove anything to you and I certainly wasn't trying to. Lex Fridman doesn't have to challenge Elon Musk or conduct an adversarial interview, he has millions of viewers regardless.
Great, lots of people listening in an echo chamber. No one question Elon, he is above such things, we worship him and take every word he says as gospel.

You do know you can be a great innovator and not a complete douche bag as well right? The guy has a massive god complex and its a real shame he doesn't have any friends who can tell him.

Given Tesla’s track record with rain issues, I’m not sure their testing and QA is up to the rest of the industry’s standards.
BMW had a water ingress recall not too long back..
Merc had an 8 year production span of water ingress recalls that could lead to an engine stalling..

In comparison, this is just a TSB for Tesla..

They have plenty of recalls, as do all other manufacturers, I can't say they need singling out on a pedestal for any poor record IMO..

On the subject of Seals and headphones with SpaceX..

Looks like a willing participant.. LOL

I made a joke. Putting headphones on Seals is quite funny, but it does go to demonstrate the lengths SpaceX have to go to so their launches get approval from the dozens of different regulators they have to adhere to.

Yeah it's great, it's like the opposite of reddit and this thread. Weird how a guy as smart as Lex doesn't find it necessary to question Elon on what he had for breakfast that morning, and the 500 other things listed in click bait articles that are constantly posted on here.

makes up a statement and gives a fake example to prove it.

what he had for breakfast that morning

go ahead, show us when someone gaves that article. given there's 500 or so others, you should easily be able to find a good amount of them....

Lex as I said is an intellectual hippy. I don't think I've ever heard him push back hard in any interview I've listened to and I've listened to a few. He's just all about the peace and love.

I don't mind Lex and think he can get a bit of a hard time from those on the left balls deep in the culture war. That said he’s definitely a bit softball in terms of questioning his guests but that’s kinda his thing, he’s the polar opposite of more combative interviewers and this works well sometimes but can also be a bit frustrating at other times when a guest is being disingenuous and he doesn’t clock onto it.

Exactly this. He's clearly smart as hell but even on Twitter he's all, "lets just all get along guys". There is nothing wrong with challenging what you are being told. I'm not saying he needs to be Jeremy Paxman.

he should buy youiube and stop the censorship of comments.
I can't even say in a youtube comment "
Turkey tastes better than chicken"

Then I tried "Chicken is tasy, turkey is tough"

after 1-2 minutes that comment also disappears....

your not allowed to mention liking meat anymore or what?

it's crazy just how much youtube censors but people will never realise because the comments don't instantly get removed.

try edit every comment your post on youtube after 1-2 minutes, and watch how many of the posts you make simply aren't there to edit after..... so it gives an error message instead

Probably the video author but assuming it isn't I don't see why they'd waste any time on that so probably the almighty 'AI' doing it's principle duty of having a 99% false positive rate.

Time to start taking bets how many second after launch it takes for musks rocket to blow up tomorrow, and then come crashing down just like the share price of Tesla and Twitter

IBM have pulled advertising from X over their ads appearing next to pro-Nazi content:

CEO Yaccarino in full Comical Ali mode as she defends X’s efforts on combating anti-semetism… as Musk retweets and agrees with a post saying that Jews stoke hatred against whites.

Not a bet I'd choose to make. SpaceX has been a consistently high performing engineering company for the last 10+ years. Falcon 9, Cargo Dragon, Crew Dragon, Starlink and Raptor Engine have been stunning successes. Starship and Stage Zero have had incredibly fast development. Don't let personal animosity for Elon blind you to the excellence of SpaceX.

And none of those have anything to do with Starship (except the Raptor engine, but they had their own issues on the previous launch).

Based on the last attempt and the utter cluster**** that was the launch, I wouldn’t expect it to get any further than the separation.
