Lionsgate, Apple, IBM, Disney, Bravo, Oracle, Xfinity, Paramount, Comcast, NBC, WarnerBros, and the EU commission has also sent out a notice advising EU business to consider pulling advertising from Twitter.

Thats a lot of business for Twitter to lose in 24 hours, just so Musk can get clicks from calling Jews Nazis

Old mate has chucked a wobbly.

Ken White left Twitter due to Elon's behaviour and it's managed to bring him back as well! Things I didn't expect to see. Welcome back Popehat.

Elon who loves free speech goes after organisations for their... free speech

Wonder if any executives at those companies has a Tesla?

There's extremist speech on every single internet platform where you have the ability to communicate via text or voice, Twitter bans extreme speech, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The fact you consistently fail to provide examples of it would suggest it's pretty minor though.

X doesn’t ban extreme speech, only demonetises it.

Not according to Twitter. They simply demonetise it.

Why do I need to post extremist content here? Everyone knows it on there, Twitter admit its on there and are happy to allow it.

X told the BBC on Thursday that ads are not deliberately placed next to extremist content, that the Nazi-promoting accounts will not earn money from advertising and that specific posts will be labelled "sensitive media".

Xitter is the only one which has been recently unbanning people previously banned for hate speech and whose owner describes anti-Semitic posts as "the actual truth".

Have these companies pulled their ads from tiktok or is it just twitter? Seems that sasha cohen and other big Jewish folks belive tiktok is where the biggest rise of antisemitism is. Then again the heads of big companies all met with old xi the all the other day and then they all pull advertisements from twitter, no coincidence there eh.

Let's see if he really does it, as he's already threatened to sue them before
I suspect discovery might be something he wouldn't like when they state in court that they pulled out because of his policies, and ask for the relevant internal documentation and stats and Musk is expected (and required) to hand it over so that it gets entered into the court records.

Yes it 100% does, posts are removed if they break ToS and users can be banned.
however good luck with getting anything other than an automated "we're looking into this" followed an automated "we found no issue with the post you reported". The joys of letting most/all of the human moderators go, so the only moderation is now bots that barely function and rely purely on keywords.

People have largely given up on reporting posts on twitter from what I understand, there is zero consistency and stuff that blatantly breaks twitters own current published rules is fine.

It was obvious when he hired a woman to be CEO that it was a glass cliff situation, she's going to take all the blame for advertisers leaving so Elon can feel smug that he doesn't have to take any responsibility.

Dunno why she opted to trust him as she seems intelligent enough but I guess the allure was too much.

At this point is it getting easier just to name the big advertisers that are still with Twitter, or at least the big ones that are actually spending more than a few hundred dollars a month? (IIRC a lot of the advertisers had already cut spending on twitter to a fraction of what they used to IIRC in some cases from high 6/low 7 figures to low 4 figures).
