The Opteron Skt 939 Overclocking thread !!!!

I am contemplating the purchase of one of these beautiful Opteron chips.. probably a 144.

I'm slightly nervous about all this overclocking stuff though.. If I was to hit say 2.6Ghz and it was stable would it be ok to leave this chip runnin 24/7 for folding/seti etc?

Also I'm getting a Asrock Dual SATA 939 board and thinking of a swift purchase of 2GB of Corsair XMS3500LL Pro TwinX DDR.. will all this be compatible.
Sorry about the spamming of this thread.. I just didn't wanna create a new thread..

(Also I know my sig is 2 big, I'm working on resizing it :) )

Some say the DFI boards overvolt, some say undervolt..

yeah ive been playing around with my fluke dmm and I am getting similar results I've measured all the rails and meter points on the board, most curious my 12v rail reading, says 11.3v in most temp monitor progs but actual voltage is 12.01v same with the rest really I'm getting neither an overvolt or undervolt when I take the readings of my dmm

just thought we maybe should be chattin about this stuff in the dfi sli ultra-d thread :o

Has anybody got the current opterons from ocuk, if so what steppimgs and what speeds? Thanks

It says: CAB2E 0548EPAW in the details of the 144's they have for sale.

Later CAB2Es have been very variable in their OCs; it seems few actually reach 3gig; but I'm sure some who have bought them will enlighten us soon.

Hello there, recently I built my first rig with an Opty 146 and haven't overclocked anything yet. I think the voltage on my opty is a little bit high, theres a screenie:

Your epox(assuming from your sig) will default to 1.5v, if the bios you are using does not allow you to go down to stock either 1.35 or 1.4 then the new bios will do

Looks like i'm getting mine stable @ 3.1 :D 1.55v

Even managed to tighten my ballistix, which seems to be running ok now, after many replacements
