The Opteron Skt 939 Overclocking thread !!!!

Using a Zalman 9500 LED about 44 max on full load and idles at 32. I'm really chuffed as you dont see many later CAB2E's reaching 3gig. Going to try reducing the volts a little once its settled.

Is your CPU voltage reported the same (or thereabouts) as the BIOS setting? ie 1.55v setting is reported as 1.55v?

On my Ultra-D the 1.55v setting in BIOS is reported as 1.52v on the actual BIOS reading and 1.504v in CPUZ.

Yea the same here.....Bios is set to 1.450 with 109.6% special which adds up to 1.5892 but the Bios reading is 1.57 and CPU-Z says its 1.552.
I just go by CPU-Z as MBM and ITE Guardian say the same.

Nogs, what Vcore you at?
Like i said above m8.

Its like a multiplier..... The max you can set the vCore to on the DFI mobo is 1.55 and the Special just increases the vCore by how much you set it at.

ie. vCore set to 1.55 with 110% special would give you 1.705.

Imagine it as TAX on your Vcore :D

Hi Everyone
new steppings of opteron 165's are out.I got CCBWE 0551VPMW, the supplier had some yesterday, gone today, but they still have a few 170's.....I will let you know how it clocks, if its anything like my CCBWE 0541RPMW, I will be a very happy man, 2.8 @ 1.6 watercooled. Will let you all know ;)

Well, I had an opportunity to buy, these are as rare as hell, and i have friends who im sure will be sooo glad of anything i have spare. Its a small group that we have, i like to look after them :)..I will test the overclocks, and share the info for the knowledge of the community, then pass them on ( unless they clock higher than 2.8 ;) )

Interesting reading and a comparison of different burn in utils:

That K7 CpuBurn utils kicks ass wiping the floor with the other utils...

Ive got my 146 to run at 2.65ghz

Running on DDR333 Divider, 265HTT, 2T Timings.

Finaly got my SL-120 to fit on my ASRock board so it stays nice and cool, never seen it hit above 30c under load

hate to say it mate, but them temps are most likely wrong. its impossible for fans to cool under you room temp, unless your pc is in a very cold room.

at them volts it should be reading it just under 30ish idle.
