That seller is the same bloke who runs an online store that sells exactly the same thing for a lower price than in the auction...

Yup I saw that, checked and ordered from the online store, not a bad price for a gaurenteed stepping at all :)

Hi guys,

I haven't got the time to read through this thread.

I currently have a 3000 venice at 2.65ghz on stock volts.

Am looking at getting one of these and hoping to get about 2.8ghz on stock volts.

A few questions -

1 - Is 2.8ghz on stock volts possible on these chips?
2 - What is the one to go for? 144 or 146?
3 - What is the stepping to go for?

Thanks,

Andy

146 OP sitting over at Bar Hill waiting to be delivered tomorrow :D Day off to play as well.Be a busy day,146, DFI NF4 ULTRA DR,Enermax 600W to install.

Been offered some Mushkin Redline quite cheap well in part ex for my OCZ 3700EB. In your opinions which would be better?

I'd highly recommend the Redlines. Fantastic modules; I use them myself.

Will do up to 260mhz at 1.5-2-2-5 on around 3.4v.

All of them I believe, you just have to set the jumper to allow over 3.2vdimm.

Which is really not a good idea on any motherboard before the DFI SLI-Expert (newest one out). The 4v jumper has by DFI's admissión killed a fair bit of RAM...

Except you can do a 'trick' jumper setting where using an additional normal jumper and ONLY having that in the 4v position (moving the big jumper block down one pin) unlocks upto 4v in the BIOS, but continues to run from the 3.3v rail.

Of course, you need to adjust your 3.3v rail to ACTUALLY get what you set in the BIOS. It will usually give a max of 3.3v rail - 0.1.

e.g. I have 3.6v on my 3.3v rail, allowing 3.5v max.

But otherwise, you're right. I wouldn't want to use the 'normal' 4v jumper setting.

Missed your post last night sorry tamille. Nice clocks. :)

Does your chip not have the cold bug?
