The Opteron Skt 939 Overclocking thread !!!!

Just a quick update, i've been in blackpool the past couple of days so i've not tested. I've just my 144 CAB2E baking under S&M, currently 25mins into the test but i've not got a clue how to use it, i'm gonna have a play tonight.

Anyway heres what my 144 will do so far:
315x9 = 2835Mhz @ just under 1.55v
Memory is on a 133Mhz divider running at 202Mhz with default timings
Temps are around 39degrees load and 27degrees idle
NB: this is a flat build with a 125CFM YS-Tech running on a XP-120 HS.
Passes OCCT 30min test and ran for 2hrs 30mins on the OCCT torture test
32M SuperPi stable
I've not tested with Prime95 yet or S&M properly.

Oh and matt1, i'd check the core for the stepping numbers but its under tests and i dont intend on stopping to check its too much effor to take the XP-120 off as i have to move the memory too. Yes i'm lazy.

I'd like somone to post an overview of all these CPU load tests as i'm unsure whats best to check true stability. From what i heard OCCT is regarded as the best test to figure out true stability, and whats Go2004, thats a new one on me. Also does Prime95 require an internet connection? Thanks guys.

I'll be testing my 144 for the rest of the week, then selling it to go back to my 146 :)

I have put my Opty 144 in and set it to 280 with a 9* Multiplier - 2475Mhz
I have not altered any RAM settings in the BIOS yet and windows is not stable.
Tried running SuperPi and it just came up with errors.
Any ideas on what my next move should be

Demon

P.S. My RAM is Corsair XMS3200 C2PT(2*512MB Matched pairs *2 - 2Gb in total)

BTW its a CABNE stepping chip. Haven't played with voltages yet as not sure about it, and haven't played around with the memory timings either. can anyone tell us where to go next?

cheers,

Demon

No probs Bossman, not worth taking your cooler off to have a peep.

Go2004 is what people call SP2004 (Prime95 really). And Prime95 doesn not require an internet connection, just download it and your free to test away.

Right done some Priming on my 144, does 2.7GHz on 1.4v solid as a rock. Here 10.5 hours of priming.

theres your answer, you have to put a divider on the ram as that wont run @ 280mhz

Currently benching/testing 148 @ 2.8GHz - how good is Sandra for stress testing? It's been looping the burn in test for an hour so far (100% load)?

I've just ran another 4 tests on my 144 CAB2E running at 2.83Ghz @ 1.55v

1. S&M Full CPU test (no memory tests) with load set to 100% and time set to average - passed
2. OCCT 30min stability test - passed
3. SuperPi 32M - passed in 25mins 29.5secs
4. Second S&M test, same as above - passed.

I'm going to run SP2004 for about 10 hours tomorrow, while i'm at work. If that passes then i have a 144 fully stable IMO at 2.83Ghz. :D

I just ran SP2004 for 20mins, it seemed happy enough - 0 errors, i'll give it a full days worth tomorrow.

Edit: Nice sig btw, Duke :)

Hi i'm new to this o/clocking stuff

Is this SP2004 - stress prime 2004 by johnny lee?

I'm using that at the moment 20mins so far, no problems

148 CABYE 275x11 (3028mhz) at 1.475v in bios (cpu-z says 1.493v) on watercooling.

146 CABYE 0540 FPAW - 10x250 @ stock volts (BIOS says 1.35) is about 2hrs Prime stable.

10x270 Fails prime instantly at stock volts.

Running this on the retail cooler and temps at 1.35vcore are around 46 on load.

I guess anything under around 50 is acceptable? Thinking of replacing the fan with something a little beefier tomorrow.

getting 300*9 on my CAB2E
cant push the vcore higher than 1.55v in bios else think could go higher
asus a8n sli deluxe using latest bios

You could save yourself some time, mine is a CAB2E and its stable at 2.8 in everything including 10 hours of prime, your solid now abuse those mhz :D

I'm at work now and its been running for about 2 hours, no idea if its still going i'll get back around 6ish tonight and report on whether it passed or not. If it has then i'll have another go at trying to crack 2.9Ghz :)
