Minstadave: Just warming up a new CABNE 0545 Opteron 146, straight in and priming at 2800Mhz with 1.5V (just picked these values randomly).

How you getting on with it, Ive been trying to find some results with this CPU stepping, with no luck.. most people are saying that the batches are not as good after week 43, probably the same people who have been saying amd is ctoppring production of these opty's!

Ive just got one, but as of yet have no hardware to test it on.. just wanted to get one before they disappeared....

Would be very interested to know...:-)

Did turn down the voltage a bit, the Opty seems to be quite happy at low volts.
What do you think of that HTT freq? 400Mhz! :D ..all it needed was 1.3 on the bus, rest is stock voltage..(or lower)

The DFI board is awesome.

My first try at OC'ing, playing with it...

..this is fun! :p

I got my opty 148 running at 264 x11 / htt x3 / 40c idle + 48c load / and mem timings of 2-3-3-5 / super pi returns 1m scores of 30s and 3D mark05 scores of 6398! reasonably happy with this.

Picked my opteron up today, it's a 148 CACJE so not the best of the bunch where overclockings concerned but hopfully it will outperform my 3500 winny. Wont be able to try for a few days but will keep you all posted.

Any guesses as to what i might be able to acheive?

Ok, gonna stop buggin' you pros, but I can't resist...

thats under 1 volt..

yeye, I know...here we overclock and so on...but admit it's kinda cool.

Put the vcore on +0.1v, and test it again. If it does the same thing then, up the chipset to 1.6v and then the htt voltage is it still wont pass. Then try underclocking the memory to see if u get stability if u need to.
