*** The OS X Lion Thread ***

<25 mins to download and install for me.

Looking great so far, though the inverted scrolling will take a while to get used to!

I changed that, did not enjoy the confusion! (Mouse, untick one of the boxes, i forget which).

Love university connections, download and installed within 30 minutes!

Love the new mail app and launchpad (which is a surprise as I didn't really think it'd be much use).

Figured I must as well bite the bullet and upgrade on day 1, just out of interest if nothing else.
Still quite new to OSX so I might as well learn on the most up to date platform.

Will be creating restore disk and going for fresh install, far rather start fresh on a new OS install.

The arstechnica review is a pretty good read, recommend it to anyone who's got a bit of time to spare.

My iTunes won't download any app updates under Lion....it may just be that Apple's servers are probably taking a severe beating right now

Well the installer said 30mins for the install ... and it actually took 50mins ... you'd think with limited hardware configurations they'd be better at estimating these things! :)

Impressions so far .... initially quite slow (early '09 Mac Mini @ 2Ghz C2D and 4GB) although I suspect it was still doing stuff in the background. Major annoyance at the moment is that my mouse is scrolling the wrong way ...

edit: which was simply fixed ...

Can anyone tell me how simple the upgrade process is? Are you given loads of install options to choose from or is it just click OK and let it get on with it?

Also how big is the download?

I installed mine via VNC, and was suprised how quick it all took.

Clicked OK, it came up with a progress bar then rebooted. Came back to the login screen and my initial reaction was "that it?" :)

Reviews don't add up on my App Store :p
