Soldato
I had the same experience as this, when mine were running 8x/8x in SLI. I just couldn't get them running correctly in some games.

Some of us like waterblocks on everything so reference cooler does not matter.
Having said that the Pascal Titan cooler is not bad, but waterblocks are needed for maximum performance.
It's not bad? Its not good either. It's mediocre. Which, at £1179, makes it bad.
It is better than any AIB cooler simply because it does not dump hot air into the case. This is the main reason for using the reference cooler.
AIB partner coolers can be an absolute nightmare in a badly configured system with poor air flow, this is something the reference cooler has to deal with.
And FE coolers are rubbish in a well configured case. They have their place in ITX builds, sure. But Nvidia demand that you pay £1179 without offering any choice. And why are you arguing for them? When you, along with seemingly the majority of TXP owners, have replaced your FE coolers as quickly as possible...
I could say the same about AMD reference coolers.
Both vendors have to provide a cooler that will work under all conditions found in peoples systems.
Sometimes the end user needs saving from their own stupidity and that means the reference coolers are the way they are, this is not going to change however much people moan about it.
NVidia don't have to offer a choice either as they know that as you pointed out we often fit waterblocks anyway.
The truth is AIB partner coolers are rubbish because they won't work under all conditions found in peoples systems, this is a situation that neither vendor can afford to have with a reference card.
As somebody else said on here you should go Titan>Titan>Titan or Ti>Ti>Ti and never mic and match .
Genuine question now. What do you Pascal T owners think now that a card costing £500 less than your reference one (not including watercooling cost on top) is basically the same performance as your card, meaning the 1080Ti? Do you feel that your card has lost over £300-£400 quid in value overnight?
You should go Titan> skip a gen > Titan etc. etc.
Not at all I feel even better about my purchase as the ti release means my card now lasts a little longer as top dog by the time next Titan is released I will have had around a year usage. As it is now my card was out 7 / 8 months before ti so I've had plenty of fun enjoying my purchase and will continue to do so until next Titan

As has been said I don't think anyone buying into the Titan range thinks about that. We all knew a TI would come at some point even if some on the forums suddenly think they are Nostradamus at the announcement. I've loved mine since I bought it.
Plus Titans hold their value better than a ti.
Not being pedantic or anything but you've spelt Nvidia wrong in your sig or is that some sort of gpu that dishes out face cream while you play
