The Playstation 3 controller

Name some then.

I don't know about the Wii(looking forward to the Wii)but the games on the 360 are boring,it's not getting played at all,so the ps3 with all my favourite game series will hopefully have some much better games(hopefully)

been thinking...what's the USB port actually for?
Charging the battery I'd imagine. Clever idea too, since I guess it means you could use any standard USB charging cable and a PC instead of the PS3 if needs be.

I didnt read the posts but searched for wireless and it said there wasnt any mention in this thread and why the hell not i thought.

Biggest factor for controllers to me now is wireless.. it really makes the console feel next gen when i dont have silly wires.. but i havnt heard anything about these PS3 controllers being wireless at all.

Looks to me like it is, and the 1, 2, 3, 4 lights on the top of the pad will work in the same way as the 360's 4 quadrants.

if they changed the dual shock i would have considered buying one, that pad puts me right off the thing, personal preference and all that

not to impressed with the ps3 on the whole but thats for another thread

Because they don't have any original ideas any more?

Playstation 3 - Giving you the online capabilities of the Xbox 360, the motion sensing ability of the Wii all in a slightly inferior way and a more expensive and uglier package.

exactly. not that i have a problem with the controller, but its a 12 year old design for christ sake. do something original for once.

oh and LOL @ no rumble. moneybags SONY should have just paid them off.

Lets see, they copied the wii monition sensing and add the 360 style button in the center and you want them to come up with an original design ?!?!?!

come on lets be realistic hear.

I'm dissapointed that there's no rumble and I really don't like the design of the controller :(

The controllers are bluetooth wireless was said during conference

also if you look at the hi res pics going about the ps3 has bluetooth plastered on the side of it :)

Yes and their really big sell is that the controller is fully motion aware, i.e. any which way you shift the controller, it translates to movement on the screen. From the E3 video demos it seems somwhat ungainly but in all fairness it is only early implimentation. As mentioned above it is 'copied' from the Wii.

Not entirely sure I can get excited about the concept, I look enough like an idiot playing racing games to need extra help from PS3 :D

Only reason this "new" joypad of theirs has no rumble is becuase they'd have to pay the company who sued them (and won) over it a year or so back. Their "it causes interference" line is most probably bs.

The R2 and L2 shoulder buttons look strangely like triggers, i.e. a larger range of movement. Taking something from XBOX there I think :)
... who took something from the Dreamcast in the first place :p
