****The Playstation 3 Slim Thread****

I think if you want a PS3 for £150, just wait for the flood of second-hand ones from owners who want to upgrade to a Slim..

You're expecting the PS3 to hit £150?
Yes
The PSTwo Slims are still around the £100 mark now.
and the cost of a NES is £35-70 Whats your point?
I don't really see it happening. Unless it's running side by side with the PS4
Make your mind either you think it will happen or it wont happen.

If I am to buy a PS3 I will be paying no more than £149 for the console. Thats price point for me that the console becomes an attractive investment of my money. Others are willing to pay more, and thats why its currently priced higher. I'm in no hurry and can wait, it will eventually drop to £149 and when it does I will consider buying one.

I said this at launch and I'll say it again now.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo make the Nes. Sony make the PS3 and PStwo, That's my point.

If Sony still price their PSTwos at £99, I can't see them dropping PS3 to £150, Until PS4 is on the market.

But if you're happy getting your PS3 when PS4 is on the market, Then all is good for you :p

Second hand is always an option obviously, I'm talking about buying New

Your right, unless he purchases one second-hand I can't see him owning one until the PS4/720 hits, but then by that time he won't want one and will he'll saying "I'll buy a PS4 when it hit's £149" :p

First off it looks cheap and its still a brick.

I just cant see any reason i would buy one of these over my current 320gb fat that plays ps2 and ps1 games and is also able to run alternative operating systems due to it being a fat ps3.

Each generation I buy one console at launch (or as soon as I have the cash) and the rest at the 100-149 mark.

Last generation I bought

PS2 @ about 300
Gamecube @ about 129-149 (cant quite remember but with all the periferals and games it came to £200)
Xbox for about 149 I think (including 4 games).

In that order.

I admit that the price drops on the Wii and the PS3 are not happening as quickly as I anticipated, however they will happen, and the PS3 will hit £149 before the PS4 comes out.

Don't insinuate I'm a fan boy.

OK I kid, but how do you come up with that figure ?, you say,
"If I am to buy a PS3 I will be paying no more than £149 for the console. Thats price point for me that the console becomes an attractive investment of my money"

But at the same time you say that you purchase one console @ launch which is a considerable amount of money, how is it that a console at launch is an "attractive investment of my money" but a PS3 @ it's current price point is not ?

And out of interest are you really going to purchase a PS3 @ £149 even if by the time it reaches that price point the PS4 and next iteration of the 360 is already released ?, because I'm guessing you'll be purchasing the next 360/720 @ launch ?

I don't see it. I'd like to be wrong believe me, as i still don't own one myself, and if they hit £150 I'd be very happy. But I couldn't wait another 3 years for that to happen(My totally stab in the dark guess that PS4 will be creeping up by then). You have more patience than me :p

As above, but need to upgrade my HDD and actually use it properly as a media server.

The only problem with playng 4 player games though is that I don't have x4 controllers. It's easier to keep a PS2 going with the multitap and DS2 pads.

My only hatre about the phat 60 is that it sounds like a vacuum. Better than my brothers 360 747 jumbo though :D
