****The Playstation 3 Slim Thread****

Dang it, i just checked the No competitor hinting! that originally said shipping on 25th, so i was hoping to receive on the 1st.. That way i could have reported sound levels using my iphone's DB meter, while playing Fifa.. BUT now the site is reporting not shipping til the 31st Aug, meaning i won't get it til probably 1st week in Sept.

Oh well best things come to those who wait I suppose !

If mine ships early I'll post some dB levels from a calibrated instrument :cool:
 
Bugger - guess Im getting rid of my 60Gb aswell then - will miss the PS2 backwards capability, but moreso the 4 USB ports as mine are always full (wired headset, PlayTV, miniUSB for charging and now my iPhone charger)...

Does anyone know if any type of USB hub works on the PS3 and if it can be powered/unpowered?

I always hated the start up sound. Just doesn't sound like the right music to play when starting up a console.

The GC start up sound is a classic.


Even the PS1 game intro is better than the PS3 start up sound.


ps2 boot up.

Apologies for the hinting, I actually thought that would be ok. Guess I don't post on here enough to realise.

tbh for £130 id rather keep the ps3 until it dies and then buy a ps3 slim.

both do the same thing bar quieter and bit stream.

Hey,

A USB hub should work (but would have to be powered with that lot!). What I want is a low-profile (and flat) USB extension cable that I could route round to the back of the console... does something like that exist?!

The only real reason I'm replacing my original 60GB with the slim is because of warranty reasons. I reaaaally dont fancy losing £399 which I paid a few months after release.

Do they even fix the original anymore?
