The Police Application Thread

I remember OST with CS spray. I hid behind the biggest fella in the class who took the full brunt of the spray. :D

Mind you it still got on my clothes, which invariably I touched when changing and thus rubbing it on my eyes. Water really doesn't help much hehe.

Kinda scary seeing as we only, IIRC, use 5% strength and other police forces around the world use up to 15% apparently.
 
Yeah it's nasty stuff. 2 guys opted to have the full blast in the face, whilst the rest of us decided to be sensible and have it sprayed above our heads. The girl next to me and myself thought we weren't going to affected at first, but then about a minute later it just hit us.

Training spray is about 3%.

We moved to pepper a couple of years back. It stings more than CS but has the advantage of not taking out the cops and members of the public who may be nearby.

I remember being involved in a particularly violent arrest where CS was used and after the bloke was taken to a cell and a cell extraction used, I rubbed my face while sighing .......... it enflamed the CS particles again. It really is nasty stuff.

Before anyone asks, the bloke was not kicked senseless in the cells.
 
Anyone managed to get through to Beds police recruitment hotline today to register for the info evening next month ?

I have been trying solidly for an hour but no joy :(

I just got back from my Day 1 Assessment Centre with the Met. I had to get up at 4am in order to be there at 8am! Bloody nightmare journey.

I could/should have prepared a little better but I was reasonably happy with how I did. I find out my results on 23rd November, so fingers crossed!
 
Finally got my PCSO Medical for Cleveland Police a week today, then another one the following week. Anyone know why you have two? It's been a bloody long wait since I applied in Nov 2007, however there is now light at the end of the tunnel and I can finally get out of Tesco! :D
 
Went to the South Wales Police assessment centre on 14/10/2009

Thought I did alright.. find out "end of November" :)

Sure it's not split into a medical and a physical (two different things). That's what happened for me, but this wasn't for PCSO but a full bobby.
