The Polo Owners Thread!!!

You know, I genuinely do miss my Polo... Its funny how this thread appeared just as I was thinking about it... :(

Perhaps a 9N3 GTI would make a better daily than the MX5.......

e; Oh wow they are much cheaper than when I last looked...

I've just driven mine 140 miles down south and it's currently parked in a hotel car park. I will get up on the hour every hour to check on it, make sure no one is trying to steal it and also to stop Scmeeeeeeeeee or whatever her name is trying to bum it.

Where is it? I need to know for... Scientific purposes... Just don't be alarmed if it goes missing, its just having an adventure... Leave the keys and the V5 in the glovebox.

I leased a 1.4 BLue GT DSG. It was surprisngly quick and the DSG was smooth. I didn't like when approaching roundabouts etc as there was a bit of a lag when slowing down and then wanting to shoot off again. I think the GTI is 30hp more I was surprised about as I thought it would be a lot more.
The car itself seemed pretty basic for a 20k car but was super comfortable even on the 17" wheels and really nice to drive.

Nice car OP

The wife has the standard 1.2 polo. When I borrow it after driving the van all day it's a really nice drive. Just missing a bit of power haha.

One thing tho, it's a 2010 model and e head lights are yellow and really poor. Could anyone recommend some bulbs that aren't to bright. Can't stand people with head lights that are blinding.

really do like these.

wish I could afford a polo gti :( one day.

Sense a bit of sarcasm, but nevertheless, 9N3 GTI's seem to be sub £3K now. So perfect for a cheap toy. They are far from old fashioned. A simple remap will get the 1.8T to 200HP, and they have lots of optional kit if you find the right one... There is one for sale right now for £2600 with heated leather and climate.

To be fair I think its a good little car and ideal for the reasons I bought it, which were to keep miles off my expensive car and not having to worry about where I drive it, take it or park it. It's nippy, eats miles relatively well and feels a lot bigger and insulated like a big car. I bought it because my father has one for the same reasons and swears by it so simply filled in some paper work and it arrive 3-4 weeks later at home. If I were ordering one as my main car then I would add a few options (DSG, Sat Nav, Climate, Active Suspension, Cruise Control) but outside of that it is fit for the purpose I bought it for.
