The Q6600 GO Stepping has arrived at OcUK!!

yeah but the G0 is better in general... lower power consumption, cooler running... all sounds nice to me :)

Anandtech's review shows very little difference between B3 and G0 versions. Certainly nothing to get all excited about.

Old news for me im afraid.

Always the same, one peron goes crazy about something and saying how fantastic it is then everyone else follows the trends and think its like, uber fantastic.

That maybe the case but the lower thermal and power requirements are indeed present with G0.

And us overclockers hate heat ;)

Mine is due tomorrow also.

I'm interested to compare to my e6850 which is currently prime stable at 4ghz and runs superPi and 3dm2001 right up to 4.22Ghz

I shall see which is best overall and then part with the lesser chip.

So far my experience of the G0's are that give them enough volts and they absolutly fly, while temps seem well controlled.

It's times like this I wish I had access to the members market. (To save £'s)
I guess I'll have to go for those lovely GO steppers instead, which I don't
mind as every little bit helps when Overclocking.

To flip your theory on its head I would imagine they are some poorer overclockers who will buy your B3 quad and save £50 and have a good night out!

Yeh me for starters :D

is it really worth arguing over a tenner, u can get them cheaper elswhere get them if not get them here its not worth getting in a fight tbh

Are these GO's really that good? Has anybody seen any benchmark's yet? If they are I may sell my B3(damn I only bought it a week or two ago) and buy one.

I'd wait for some more results, if u see many people running them 4GHz stable you will have your answer.

A little dissapointed I sold my Q6600 to get this GO to get a better overclock, it works out @3681GHZ where my old one did 3545GHZ
still it's 36MHZ better but I had hoped for more.
PS this is on std heatsink so water users should get much more.

i am suprised so many are selling the B3s to get the G0 to be honest. lots making the jump form C2D to C2Q which makes a little more sence.

you can make them faster...and run cooler with less voltage than the B3's. My mate had a £200 water coling system...and his CPU at 3.4 With 1.5V and I wouldnt say its Prime95 stable totally. Temps are 70C load.
Mine on air (Tuniq Tower) is doing 3.5Ghz....on 1.4V...60C full load...and prime stable. Certainly a beter chip than the B3...and its a no brainer if you want only air cooling!
