The Radeon RX 5700 XT Owners Thread.

Hi there Saint, I have had a very similar experiance to you. I bought a 5700xt red devil back in June and pretty much from the get go have had issues with games locking up probably every hour or so to say every 20 mins.

Games that I had the most issues with were:
COD:MW - Game would just exit abruptly
Division 2 - Game would freeze but not exit to desktop (Problem became worse when undervolting/overclocking)

I have tried DDU/driver updates, more power/lower clocks with no avail.

I installed windows to a second drive fresh and only installed the most recent driver Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.9.1 with a fresh install of division 2 and sucess so far. Even when I pushed the card to 2150Mhz with a 50% power limit at 1.2v still stable. Ran for 3+ hours between stock and overclock.

Thermals on my card are poor though even at stock speeds:
75C GPU temp
95C Junction
~2000rpm fan speed
Open case with 3 140mm fans on the front 1 on rear and 2 on top, ~20 ambient.

Hope that helps a little, if it start crashing Ill update.

Thanks for this. I ended up RMA'ing my card in the end as I believed it was faulty. Just been told that my card's being replaced, so guess it had issues!

I've been running a Nvidia GTX 1070 for a few weeks and not had even 1 issue with it, so hopefully the new 5700XT doesn't give me issues. I'll have to think about what to do if I still get crashing with the replacement 5700XT, as it will clearly show it's an issue with the drivers and not the hardware.

Will be testing this weekend hopefully

I'm sadly having to rma my Gigabyte 5700 xt OC. The thing recently has just started blowing like a jet engine under little stress, heating up like crazy, and whilst the fans are going crazy the RPM says it is at 0. My first AMD card, not given me much hope.

@GIGA-Man Sorry to bother you, what is the average time turnaround for an RMA with all that's going on? I just started my PhD and don't have a backup GPU.

I've sent it off and you chaps have it already.

Cheers.

Holo, my 5700XT RMA completed a few days ago. It took 14 days from OCUK receiving it to me receiving the replacement. That was a Powercolor card

I had to RMA my 5700XT, Powercolor Red Devil.

Started black screen crashing and was even artifacting beforehand.

Such a shame because performance wise I think it's pretty much the sweet spot for 1080p 144hz gaming in terms of value for money.

I purchased it as a B Grade, and I suppose the only saving grace were the issues arose during the 90 day warranty period.

First experience of a faulty GPU, gutted really.

Hi, I have this annoying issue I have the Sapphire 5700xt nitro+ SE whenever I cold boot I notice when in idle the card gets to very low mhz i.e 8 mhz etc but its performance sucks when gaming and stutters but if I restart it idles at 800mhz and it runs great , tried it without any OC and on default

I tried going into the bios turned off fast boot, also set PCIE as primary display not sure what else to try ?

Just took delivery of a new iMac

you poor guy. Feel for you there.

Was yours a B Grade too?
I thought it was a great card, so it's frustrating, especially considering the current GPU climate.
Stuck using a Nvidia 1050ti now. First Nvidia card I've ever used. I feel dirty :p

mine was a b grade and still going strong.

You can tell when there is a bad batch from Gigabyte because you will see 10+ being the quantity in clearance.

Seen this was an AMD 7850, 7870, and one other more recent card. All Gigabyte.

I was just offered a 5700 XT Nitro, how are the drivers before I bite. Last time I owned a 5700 XT the drivers where awful with crashing, black screens and random shut downs.
