The Radeon RX 6900/6950 XT Owners Thread.

No, am not using that although I have not turned hardware accelerator off in battle net launcher AFAIK I'll check that soon
Enable ReBar and try a selective start-up too. That means you disable all non Windows start-up apps and services.
To reboot in a selective startup:

Press WINDOWS-R on the keyboard to bring up the Run window, enter MSCONFIG and click OK.

Under the General tab, click "Normal startup" if it is not selected already.

Under the Services tab, put a check on "Hide All Microsoft Services" and then click "Disable All."

Under the Startup tab, these will still be disabled in Windows 10 in the Task Manager.

Click OK on the MSCONFIG window, and then click Restart when prompted.
If you are running two displays, try disabling one.

How many people here use the 6900xt for vr and use a quest 2 please
Just curious as I have just returned a faulty 3070 Ti and like the look of a sapphire nitro

OK I will try this later thanks, yes I have two displays plugged in but one is turned off

Try physically disconnecting it next time just to see if it changes anything. Make sure you have no browsers open too at the time.

Yup will do, I never have anything open when playing warzone and the task bar only has icue, razer and bull guard anti virus

I can also try closing all of those but those were always there when I used the 2070s

Bullguard anti virus claims it does game optimization by blocking other apps using memory or something

The 2070 is significantly slower though than the 6900 XT, so it might sniff out imbalances in your system somewhere, either in software, hardware or both.

I don't know what game optimisation by an anti virus is, but I don't like the sound of it and you do not need it.

iCue can also be problematic as it can poll the CPU to run RGB effects, but at least try keeping it off while you test.

Can you offer any feedback for that user? :)

The kids say its better than the Quest 1 experience with a GTX 2080.

Seriously there is a lot of personal preference and situation in the mix. WIFI or USB, 2.4ghz or 5.ghz etc etc.
Nvidia cards are meant to be better with Virtual Desktop but then I cant tell the difference between my sons 3060ti and my 6900xt.
Some people dont like the lag, some tolerate it, some dont like the blurred visuals on the textures etc.

All I would say its for me the minimum recommended is a 3080/6800 anything above that then it will be fine.

To be honest second time round I'm finding VR a bit meh. Yes the visuals are greatly improved over the Quest 1 but its already being hardly used I think the content is still lacking. Much rather play in good old 2D.
I cant see us keeping it longer than 6 months.

@barbel you can read my opinion above not putting it in the two other threads you have asked the same in or it will annoy others.

Appreciate it.

Never used VR, it just does not appeal to me at all.

Thank you for your reply only reason I asked in different threads is because I was omly getting a one sided view with people that had a nvida and wanted both sided to make a decision

Let them fix the damn game first and THEN add the niceties :p
hahaha I'vbe not played since the first day, it was that broken I stepped away and played Vanguard which I was amazed they'd bothered to put FSR on as well and it runs exceptionally well in 4k maxed. However, yeah be nice to see BF but if still a mess then yeah... might pop in tonight and see what's going on with the game.
