They still have some in the 3d printers section here. 10+ But boy they are not cheap! The one I had on order was £1250 (not delivered), so I can see why people aren't jumping on them.

I paid £1500 for this LC but really don't regret spending it on an AMD card, they are doing some really good stuff!

At a solid 2700-2710 core clock and it's absolutely flying :cool:

He he. Love it. Performance from the XFX is at least on par with the reference then? Have you tried beating your previous benchmarks yet?

It is a marginally worse sample, but the temps are 5c+ better all round. The MBA design is solid tbh I just really love the look of the Merc.

I doubt i will be able to improve my scores much but I will give it a go at some point. Currently just enjoying playing games at 2500Mmhz / 2112Mhz at 300W with a silent fan profile.

@LtMatt well my 6900xt looks to have bricked it's self, i used mpt to unlock power target of 345w and left all other settings alone, i wrote to sppt and followed all instructions and when i got back into windows after restarting my keyboard blinks and the weclome screen is black with a no display error on my screen.

heart sunk a bit to say the least but i tried all other dp and hdmi inputs and nothing, i have since removed the card and got my 3090 back in and up and running, managed to ddu the amd drivers and install the relevent ones, have i just bricked my card (6900xt)?

If all you did was change the power limit to 345W and click write, restart PC and black screen I doubt it as you wouldn’t have put any load on the GPU. Are you sure you didn’t change anything else, because you should only change power limit, TDC and Max SoC Voltage. Changing other values such as max voltage or clock speeds can cause problems.

@LtMatt, only touched the power limit from 255w to 345w the card under water clocked to 2650mhz all by its self before hand, i did this when i first got the card and on air the power limit change boosted my 3dmark numbers by a fair amount (500 poiont increase), but temps were limiting the cards boost clock (air 2280mhz average) edge temp 78 and hot spot just under 100 (98 exactly)

I use 300W on my Merc and MBA 6900 XTs, but I have used 400W for short benchmark runs and never had that issue.

Normally you can undo any changes made by MPT by uninstalling the drivers or clicking delete SPPT in MPT as the changes are not permanent.

i'll try the card in a diffrent pc come the weekend, atm off work due to catching covid but my issolation ends on sunday, hopefully i can get out and test the card @LtMatt i'll keep you posted on how i get on

what card do u prefer for frames? not mentioning raytracing

Also when u play raytracing games on the 6900xt is it greyed out? or do u have to play the game minus RT?

Im on latest drivers for my 6900 xt and im getting varying results, BFV low settings im down to 95fps at times and then up to 150 others, this is very low to what i get with the 3090- 180 plus.

It seems ok in warzone and black ops fps wise, the gpu usage in BFV is also low around 50 to 70 %.

Do i need an older driver or am i missing something?

As i say on a positive note this doesnt crash in black ops or X4 from what i can see and the stutter in black ops has totally gone.

if your just counting the rasterization performance of both gpus then it's too close to call, amd have really closed the gap with there new generation gpu's, however if you care about dlss or ray tracing the 3090 wins hands down, hell even the 3080 is a beast with those freatures enabled.

in older games the diffrence fps wise is 2-5% in favor of team green but at the cost of massive power draw (3090), if you dont care for dlss or ray tracing i'd opt for the cheaper 6800xt as that has the best of both worlds (price and performance)

regarding the 6900xt and RT the only game i have tried is death stranding and i can confirm that dlss and RT are greyed out in the options in that game, almost as if it knows there is not capable gpu running, i do have hdr and tbh i cant tell much diffrence between the 2 cards, basically it looks soo good regardless.

i just wish my 6900xt worked, still will find out soon and if so i may need to reinstall windows as looking online it could be a kernal issue in my case, for now my 3090 fe at 4k is working as intended

it's horrible, it starts off like a mid cold but the sysmtoms get worse, i've had whole body shivers, Diarrhea, horrendous coughing, runny noise, wild temprature's and most recently today woke up and had trouble breathing for around a 1hr, very weasy and gasping, still have a bad cough but my head is full of cold, its really not fun and i'd not wish it on anyone, see what tommorow brings. i hope to get better as my isolation as above should end on Sunday but who knows
