I’ve accepted coil whine on high fps with my mba.

Not sure any card is immune.

thats a shame, my mba is totally silent under load, tbh psu's do play a part in why gpu's are loud under load but again its not always the case, you could try multiple psu/gpu setups and still have some whine, just the luck of the draw, not a lot of people win it :(

yeah that’s why I was asking what everyone’s PSUs are, just in case mine is the issue.
For reference I have a ThermalTake toughpower sfx 1000w

I guess it's best to stick to my 4070 then
Possibly, is the rest of your system still as per your sig (R7 1700 in a prodigy M)?

If you wanted more performance, then there are SFX PSUs available at higher ratings but all depends on budget and whether the gain is worth the money to you (and as GhostDog says, the 7900XT pulse is now £29 more!)

Oops I use mobile so didn't realise my Sig was that old. I'm in a nr200 with 5600x.

Ah Ok, was gonna say that the 1700 would almost certainly be a heavy bottleneck on the 7900xt, with a 5600 it wouldn't be so bad (although might still be slightly limiting, I'm not sure - I'm currently using a 3700x and it seems ok to me) :)

with a 65w CPU (and I'm guessing from the case that you just have 1-2 m.2 drives and not much else drawing power), then 600w would probably be enough (e.g ~360w for the card and ~100-120w for the rest of the system), but would still be running the PSU nearer to flat out than I would be happy with long term..... So again it's all down to your budget and what value you place on it
