The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

Hi

My tuning in Adrenalin undervolt keeps resetting, I have a stable undervolt 500-2700 1110mv Power limit +15.

But it keeps setting back to default. No crash, no notification of any kind.
I found disabling Fast Boot in Windows solved issues with Wattman. With previous cards it would reset every now and then but with my 7900XT it would just get a black screen when Windows boots if manual tuning was selected in Wattman even if it was selected but left at stock settings

Big thanks to @gupsterg my 7900 XTX is finally under water :)

What temps are you getting now on the core and hotspot?

Hi all, what makes VRAM usage go up and does that affect FPS if its well within the VRAM capacity?

MSFS is using about 7Gb VRAM with textures on high. I have 20 Gb available so can I make it use more for better visual quality?

Question about undervolting.

Current settings 500-2700 1110mv Power limit +15.

If I drop the MV lower and it crashes. Will dropping the max speed. Help and possibly not crash.
Yes thats an easy way to cap power is reducing max speed. I do this for world of warships as 100fps is plenty for that game. I use max clock of 2200 with -10 power and 1100 undervolt.

That’s right textures use vram as well as ray tracing and some texture filter algorithms. If you don’t have enough vram that’s when the problems start. As you have 20GB you should be fine for ages. Crank those textures up to the max.

So guys, with more and more talk of another massive gpu shortage on the horizon thanks to AI I'm considering a new card now. Would a 7900xtx liquid devil be a decent upgrade from a 3080ti ftw3?

in terms of upgrade yes the 7900xtx will be a decent upgrade over the ti if you game at 1440p or more, plus the extra vram of the xtx will help if you like to crank settings and will be enough for any upcomming games, with regard the the liquid devil it will be a monster card but there is one thing to watch out for and thats coil whine, some of the older devil range cards have had horrible problems, my old 6900xt LD did suffer a bit in some games but others i could happly live with, tbh a MBA with a block will still give solid results, my sapphire xtx mba with a block is great no whine and runs super cool under load, but the choice is yours.

@wookiee87 @JediFragger thanks for the responses guys. I'm not in a massive rush and ideally want to find a buyer for my current card first but it's good to know I'll see a significant upgrade when/if I pull the trigger. Will definitely check out the Sapphire cards as long as I can get a Matrix 7 compatible or EK block for it I'm not tied in.

i run 4k with my xtx and its great, watercooling does unleash rdna3 with regard to clocks, if you can keep the loop cool enough :)

Is there an EK block for the Sapphire? Don't get me started on loop temps. Need to redo my tubes as while cpu and gpu temps are great around mid to low 50's under load, my fluid temps regularly go over 40c unless I blast the aircon on which isn't ideal. This is a triple 360 set up too.
