The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

Pretty interesting, not sure if its a good thing or a bad thing when it comes to this AI movement.

As we can see, the AMD silicon is finally starting to shine in GenAI to the point where it offers higher value compared to the 4080 in Stable Diffusion A111. The AMD 7900 XTX offers 18.59 iterations per second making users pay $52.1 per it/s while NVIDIA RTX 4080 gets 19.41 iterations per second making users pay $56.6 per it/s. If users opt for the less-common SHARK implementation, they can drive the value proposition all the way up to just $46.6 per it/s for the Radeon 7900 XTX. So its official - AMD is officially a contender for consumers interested in generative AI.

Had my first instance of experiencing coil whine with my 7900XT over the weekend.

I typically play games with a frame limit (180hz 1440p monitor so have always capped at 177 - or when I use my 240hz 1080p I cap at 235) so I've never really noticed it. I jumped on some F1 2020 at the weekend and decided to run everything with no limit and it's pushing out 360+ frames at max settings and I can hear an odd noise... Genuinely thought it was my daughter making a little whimper but nope, it's the 7900XT! Not enough to annoy me because I typically cap frames and play with headphones on so it's not likely to be an issue right now.

I guess you should never settle for narrowly-beating a (7900 XT + 7950X) world-record when you can smash it.

Smashed the 29K Graphics score. Up >900pts over next-best system.
Busted the 27K combined-score.

*Sapphire Pulse 7900 XT @ 3000gpu, 2775mem, 1025mv, +15PL

**Special thanks to LtMatt and @Scott C who sold me the 7950X and 7900 XT on the OcUK MM.
Third owner of this record breaking Sapphire Pulse here now :)

Although now it's in a hot room + summer, so it's @ 2300 core, stock mem, 1000mv, -5PL to keep it under 300W :p

Enjoying the boost at 4K over my 6700XT.

The RX 7900 XT is doing well in pretty much every game here:

Consistently solid performance with SAM enabled, even at 4K resolution.

I have a pc that i purchased a few months ago and i keep getting intermittent freezes for about 3 mins before the computer goes to black screen and restarts. I have sent it back to be looked at but because there is no uniformity when it happens it can be fine for days before it happens again. overclockers did replace the power supply but it still happens. I am currently keeping an eye on the gpu temp after seeing this forum as i do have the Powercolor 7900 xtx card.

Is anyone planning to upgrade again when high end RDNA4 cards are released?

In my case, I'm not sure I will, I think I may upgrade again when the generation after next is released.
