It was well worth the move from a 3080 to 79XTX beginning of last year, it's probably just went past mid life now, I'd hang tight and see if there's a price move with the supers launching.

With the 40 series Super cards due soon, I don't see a full on gen refresh at least until late this year. Time will tell though. You seem to have the cpu for it @Awahwah if the price was right. As your only months now away from the next gen its probably best to ride it out and see what the leap is (which should be better than going ada/rdna3).
Think it would be wise to see what the supers do to the xtx price. May jump then, may not. With the 40 series Super cards due soon, I don't see a full on gen refresh at least until late this year. Time will tell though.

There should be some price fluctuation so see where the XTX lands imo, if you're not too bothered about upscaling or RT then the XTX is a no brainer at similar pricing BUT the 4070TiS won't be far off a vanilla 4080 either...With 4070TI Super with 16gb just around the corner and price wise it will be just below 1k it seems - which onw is the better buy between 4070tiS and 7900xtx?
AMD should have fixed drivers for 7900xtx by now?!
Surfing reddit I can see that AMD is still not on par with nvidia in that regard, they catching up however.I didn’t know they were broken.
Utter rubbish. There is nothing wrong with the drivers. Been using 7900xtx from day one and they have been fine.Surfing reddit I can see that AMD is still not on par with nvidia in that regard, they catching up however.
Ah yeah, that’s where you’re going wrong.Surfing reddit

You have to realise this is the owners forum. If there are any driver problems the owners are going to be talking about it. That simply is not the case.No offence intended, just want to make a better decision than last time.
I concur, never had any issues other than pushing undervolting a bit too hard which is my own issue.Utter rubbish. There is nothing wrong with the drivers. Been using 7900xtx from day one and they have been fine.
Pondering doing the same thing myself. I guess it makes sense to see what the Super prices are and whether that does anything to the XTX. Not one for being patient though, especially with having a mate that wants my 3090 so the re-sale of that would be very easy and offset the shiny new-newHave any of you upgraded from a 3090 and if you did for raster was it worth it? I’m weighing up sticking it out till next gen AMD/NV or going for a XTX.
According to tech powerup it’s about 33% quicker. Ray tracing about the same.Pondering doing the same thing myself.
