The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

The new drivers improve power draw during video playback, not at idle. That issue is still known and under debug.

I see about 50W with a single 4K120HZ OLED display atm.

i'm seeing around 41-57w when i have yt and another tab open, seems a lot lower than the original driver, that would see my card pull 100w+ under same conditions, running a asus 27" 4k at 144hz, tried 120,75 and 60hz but see no diffrence in power pull from the card, original driver the power usage would drop a lot if i used 120,75hz options, but the new driver has fixed a lot of that, completly idle, card drops to 19w

@3440x1440 I got a Time Spy score of 24902. I am using the free version so not sure I can link results. Is it worth £30 to get the 3dmark software?

Was capped at 200 fps at this res in Doom and gpu was downclocking to 1600mhz so was nowhere near maxed out. I do not have many grapicly intensive games but will most likely pick some up in the winter steam sales.

Card has no coil whine and seems cool and quiet. Will sit in this spare PC until I get a waterblock for the WC system and then I will properly test it.

3DMark is on sale on Steam at the moment. Just got it for 6.94GBP

Yeah I picked 3Dmark up while it is on sale. £7 is a lot more palatable that £27. Waiting for EK blocks to come into stock (or whoever else makes one for the MBA) and then i will swap thte xtx over to this PC and rebuild the entire loop. Going to try and get everything perfect this time so it could take a few days , this PC will stay as it is for the foreseeable future so no more upgrades.

Anyone migrated from 6900XT/6950XT to 7900XT?

Debating giving myself the Christmas present tonight :p on a 3070 and looking at all of those options…. (1440p 165hz)

I did, it was more of a side grade admittedly, but I went from a MBA 6950XT to a 7900XT.

I only did it because I managed to sell my 6950 for a good price, it meant it cost me about £100 to change! I figured I got more vram, better RT, slightly lower power use etc.

Perhaps not worth it if I hadn’t had got such a good return on my other card, but I’m very pleased with the 7900XT :)

How does that compare to your 6900xt performance? I’m less worried about the £££ and more worried about actually using it’s capability! Also with the prices on 6950xt/6900xt now it’s attractive

I'm on the fence currently. Not sure if I want to part with my Nitro+ 6800 XT, it's so darn quiet and fast... Debating a Nitro+ 7900XT.

Personally, after just getting back into pc gaming after a 15yr break, I'm blown away by the 6900xt performance. Still got my mind set on the 7900XTX Nitro+ to complete this build.. but yeah. It's a great card. Very grateful that I've been given the opportunity to be able to give it a test run over the holidays while I wait for the 7900 to arrive.
