The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

Do GPU bios ever get updates? Don't recall ever seeing any on my GPU's I've owned.
Would be good for fan profile, to bypass the AMD drivers, disable fan power off mode etc

back in the day it was done via bios, but i dont think it can be done anymore.
i have to bios mode two 7950 that run in cross fire to adapt power play and fans

last card i did it to i think was a GTX760, i did the vega unlock thing too

i was going to try an XT bios on my none XT as its basically the same card and chap but cut down

also probably only try it on a dual bios design.

On those models, if it bios upgrade fails, you flip to the other bios. But how would you flash the corrupted bios? Do the utils allow you flash specific bios, or do you flip the switch once it's booted to the corrupted one then perform flash?

i sold a 7800xt and they guy returned it as from his order history(feedback) i got one cheaper
said it was faulty, i just ended up at CEX

I sold it as Non Returnable as I know damn well it works and showed proof of it to the buyer. So, they’d have no real leg to stand on if they tried to return it saying it doesn’t work etc. Could claim damage in transit etc, but that would be a Royal Mail issue.

Must admit that I’ve sold over 100 things on the Bay and have never had a comeback. As long as you’re honest and everything actually works, it’s rare to have comebacks.

It’s worth ‘the risk’ to get full market value rather than losing £200 by selling to CEX. Wouldn’t be worth me selling a 7900XTX for £550 and then having to pay £150ish on top for a 9070XT. As a straight swap on value and no cash, it’s more than worth it.

Wondering how Pulse XT owners are getting on with their undervolts?

-60mv seems about my best game stable, 2750mhz mem, I leave the power limit thing alone?

I sold my 7900XTX for £750 so happy to pay close to that for a Nitro + XT, or pocket a small difference. Have seen my mates one with my own eyes and the difference FSR4 makes is truly staggering. It’s worth it for that alone. If you get a good OC sample then you can actually match a 7900XTX in raster, or even surpass it in some games
Nice one! I just sold my 6750 XT on eBay for £250. Not too bad since I got the 9070 for £539.

CEX only offering £176.

My card is stable at -95mV; 2,764 MHz VRAM; +10% power limit; tested with Neon Noir (4K, 1080P); Heaven & Valley (1440P, AAx8, Vol.Shad, Refr.); Superposition (1080P Extreme & 4K Optimised); World of Tanks enCore RT (1080P Ultra RT, 4K Ultra RT); Passmark.

No issues running 3DMark benchmarks, although results not as high as some others with the Pulse XT.

there is no such thing on ebay, your consumer right say it can be returned within 45day is faulty

Yes but have you gamed for hours at that? I was similar but it craps out in some games and then not others

Just did a dirty little test in ONCE human with everything maxed @ 1440p UW with my 9070 prime
PL +10% / -50mv = 255Watts, rough 140 FPS

PL -30% / -90mv = 160watts, rough 124fps

Seriously, 160watts for rough 12% performance loss. Seriously good performance for such a low power envelope. Means the entire system draws less than 260 watts + monitor when gaming!
Quick undervolt and this is using half the power to max my monitors refresh rate in the same game over a 3090FE with an undervolt.

I've done the same. No brainer to basically get paid a little to swap to something that either matches it or beats it and has the bonus of FSR4. I got the Nitro+ for £699 and couldn't be happier.
I was surprised this XT Nitro+ beats my old Red Devil 7900 XTX in nearly everything I've tested. My Red Devil was heavily undervolted and overclocked too.

And yes, FSR4 is leagues ahead of 3.1. Worth it alone.

Try Helldivers, could not get that stable at anything more than -60mv, I'm only interested in game stable undervolts tbh.
You can do per game OC settings if you find some games aren't stable.
By the way, the latest AMD drivers, 25.3.1, made my old XTX and my mates 7900 XT unstable in HD2, so could be a combination of your OC and iffy drivers.
