The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

How do your fans sound, can you clearly hear when they spin up? Still considering whether I should return mine and eat the £60 cost to get a different card when they are back in stock.
I didn't notice them really, if I concentrated on them Id probably hear them but I've only ran 3dmark benchmarks so far. The temp never went above 50°c. Working today so will test it out more tomorrow and give an opinion on volume.

Here are some benchmarks on my 5800x3d/X470 platform, main score is a bit off due to CPU but if you look at the GPU score that makes more sense.

I haven't really pushed this to the limit in all honesty but thought I'd do some minor adjustments to power mainly to see what kind of performance I could get.

There's no coil whine with my card and it's quiet and runs cool compared to when I had a 4090 for obvious reasons .

first game i tried. Dead Island 2, crashes to desktop on launch.. (ran fine before on rtx 3060)

Common with the Taichi or XTs in general? It's quite strange as it almost instantously raises and lowers. It's within the thermal limit I guess, and I can play with the fan curve.
Nothing concrete not a very big sample size yet but out of the ones I’ve seen from a few brands seems common

Steam?

Did you delete your steam shader cache? Over the years some on t'interwebs say moving from Nvidia to AMD that may need to be done.

DDU doesn't clean it AFAIK

Interesting, i've not messed with the memory overclock much as i was trying to see why upping the core clock did nothing. It is next on the agenda!

Upping the core clock will not do anything if the GPU is already thermal throttling. It simply cannot boost any further. It’s also why the boost clocks can change based on how demanding a game is on the GPU. More demanding games cause more heat and lower boost clocks (generally).

- Set a lower core voltage
- Increase Fan speed
- Set a higher power limit

Any one (or all) of these might affect core clocks.

xbox game pass., ive just tried that deleting the nvidia shaders cache and the directx one in windows disk cleanup

Due to limited space I can't fit 2x pigtailed 8 pin connectors in my case so i've been a bit cheeky and used a pigtailed one from my SF750. I do have a pair of single connector cables coming that should fit much better!

1) Sapphire
2) 9070
3) Nitro+

I love the aesthetics of the card, minimal coil noise.

I haven't done anything with it except install the latest drivers and run a couple tests.

A couple of good results on the RT tests but my time spy scores seem a bit on the low side. I guess I will need to have a play :)

"Average clock frequency2,594 MHz"

low clock speed, shouldn't these things all be doing 3ghz+

Had to revert back to running my Reaper with the 650w PSU today in place of the new 1000w, so currently runnning in efficiency mode. Schoolboy error of not considering the new PSU length in my current mATX case where the new PSU connectors now clash with the GPU. So a new case is being delivered tomorrow, at this rate I might as well have gone for a complete upgrade but more parts for the daughters build at this rate :D
