dont you just love it

They wont drop that much, 30% or so id guess, they dont want to screw Scotland over for when Rangers are back in the big league if voted out.
Celtic as I have said all along will be the biggest losers financially with Rangers out the league, the first season they might rumble along but if Rangers are in division3, then years 2 and 3 the fans are going to vote with their feet, you already see it when they play the diddy clubs in the league, a good chunk of their support dont bother to turn up even when they have tickets.
But we need a shake up, we have fallen next year to the lowest its almost possible to go in european standings, we are stagnant and there is no room for error for teams to bring through young guys, if the best we got was proper reconstruction with a proper pyramid scheme and a slightly bigger league so that teams like St Mirren and Motherwell can blood youngsters without worrying about relegation so much, we would start seeing the league flourish.
We will suffer in the short term if Rangers go down, but if the net result is we become more competitive, Rangers and Celtic eventually start getting automatic euro spots, as the other teams become stronger then we will see the league make progress, the huge difference in wealth from the old firm to the other clubs needs to be improved, whether thats by splitting attendance money or whatever, but the old firm will never improve to the level they want without the increased competition.
Obviously these kind of shakeups could happen with Rangers in the SPL, but the voting structure is as such that nothing can happen as the old firm can veto any move, and its short sighted thinking like that that keeps them at the station they are, big fish in a small pond, let a few more predators into the league and we could all move to a bigger ocean.
So the SPL fixtures are out and it loks like the SPL want us in look at this little trio of fixtures.
Dec 15th
Ross County v Club 12
Dec 22nd
ICT v Club 12
Dec 26th
Club 12 v Celtic.
Have us travelling all over the place then play you know who!
One major hurdle you have though is fanbase Mark. People through the gates. It wont change.
Season tickets will still mean Rangers and Celtic will be able to afford the better players. TV money will help but they will still have more cash to spend.
As for moving to a bigger ocean. Its too late imo. Small pond it is and its getting smaller and smaller there will soon be a hose pipe ban.![]()
People through the gates? How many did Rangers get in their final cup game at home?
Rangers able to afford better players? Better than whom? You don't have any players, so they need to buy an entire squad.
Their own supporters associations are telling people not to buy season books. Sponsors are threatening to pull out, and HMRC will want lump sums up front from a high risk company.
Also, given Rangers may be playing in the 3rd division next season, the season books are hardly going to fly off the shelf at £500 a go, more like £200 for the ones who actually bother to take them up.
You a Dunfermline fan?? I would have thought that isn't too bad.
Could be worse, you could have 2 trips to the north either side of a champions league qualifier.
You seem awfully concerned. Perhaps you shoudl try loving your own club more than you hate mine. you never know you might actually like it.
Theres plenty of time for us to have players. I fully expect us to have a squad of players by the time we play our first match in whatever league we find ourselves in.
Wouldnt worry about that its not like you'll be in the competition for long anyway.

You're hole argument is predicated on the idea that football is about seeing the big names, that spending the money is key to making money.
Scottish football has proven that doesn't work, it's the perfect opportunity to try and fix the league to generate income away from 4 dull/hateful old firm games and actually make a league about the game, instead of the "special".
Ultimately more fans will come to see a decent standard of football based on tactics and entertainment than one based on some over paid "stars" collecting their paychecks every week.
Easy, the Celtic v Dundee Utd game will be postponed. Celtic play Real Madrid that day over in the states.
looks like the spl have finished their case against them for the EBT. And they have a case to answer to looks like they have been cheating all these years scum of the earth get them down to the 3rd division , hope they get their tainted titles took off them as well
