Wouldn't green be better off waiting for pomp to break and buying their league place instead of peeing in the wind with this bury idea... It's at least a more plausible lie.

Na thats what Celtic were going to do if you believed the rumours :p

Vlad Statement :-
Mr Romanov, who has been consistent in his views since investing in Scottish football in 2005, said:

"The opinion of Heart of Midlothian FC in regards to the current situation of Scottish football is clear and robust.

"The football mafia represented by former owners of Rangers FC and Rupert Murdoch's media are to blame for some of the worst problems to hit Scottish football and must not be allowed back in under any circumstances.

"As regards the club itself, we can only express our deepest condolences to its supporters, who have been lied to for so many years.

"It had to happen sooner or later. Victories were achieved not by sporting merits, but through slander, conspiracies amongst players and their poaching via third parties, unfair pressuring of referees, who in themselves are as valuable to the fabric of football as the football stars themselves.

"All of this brought hollow victories and destroyed football. We can also mention the attempts to eliminate Hearts with the help of the tax petitions, through false accusations and threats to revoke the club license. There is a saying about digging a grave for someone: you get it for yourself …

"Without these people football will become cleaner and stronger. Without Murdoch the whole of society will improve, in particular sport and culture.

"Supporters deserve a new beginning and have to accept the fact that their club has to start from the lower league, keeping order in the SPL and without creating unfair competition with other clubs.

"As regards the pitiful state of Scottish football finances, a lot of the blame should be placed at the doors of Murdoch's media. They pay huge sums to English clubs, whilst in Scotland, where football is better supported per capita than anywhere else in Europe and there are more cable or Sky subscribers per capita than in England, clubs receive peanuts for their broadcasting rights.

"At the very least this is discrimination and protectionism for the English football product, which at the same time stunts the development of the game in Scotland, that is regarded as the cradle of football.

"I feel that it is absolutely realistic to create a company that would bring to Scottish clubs at least the same broadcasting income, and even grow it by 50-100% over the next two to three years. This company should be in the hands of Scottish clubs and work with those who want to earn money the honest way, instead of conducting business the Murdoch way.

"They have lived beyond law and all morals, and should now be declared beyond the pale. A society that allows the destruction of integrity in sport, which is a crucial part of Scottish culture, is destroying itself - and all for the benefit of a media aborigine."

Don't think I'd be too happy to let in a team that conned their way out of paying £800k for a former star player. Fair point as well that the same media that wanted Hearts done for delaying players' wages and late tax payments are now wanting Rangers let off with a light punishment.

Motherwell have also announced they're letting their fans decide how the club will vote via ballot.

A few fair points and a lot of bitterness. Is Romanov the crackpot who sacked a winning manager, broke up the winning squad and brought in a load of third rate players from his home country? and tried to run the first team himself? or was that last part a myth?

They dont call him Mad Vlad for nothing! He did all those things.

Inverness look set to say no to newco too.

Statement from Kenny Cameron of ICT:

Posted 15 minutes ago

Open letter to the fans from ICTFC chairman Kenny Cameron:

The Rangers situation has resulted in a huge volume of letters, emails and phone calls to me from Caley Thistle supporters -- so many that I cannot reply individually, though all have been given due consideration and the board fully appreciates our fans' strength of feeling on the issue.

Similarly, all the posts on the fans' website have been noted. This week we consulted with the Supporters Trust, whose input is particularly important to us.

It is fair to say that those who say that Rangers have been punished sufficiently are in an extremely small minority of all the representations received.

The directors of the club have taken all the comments on board. Our final decision on the issue will be taken based on the views of supporters and the Supporters Trust combined with what we think is best for our club from a business perspective and for Scottish football in general.

This is an extremely busy period, otherwise I would have taken time to reply to all of our fans who have taken the trouble to contact me. Their views will not be arbitrarily dismissed.

Meanwhile, as events continue to unfold, the board will continue to assess the situation on an ongoing basis.

Thanks for your input, Kenny Cameron.

So today we have had 3 clubs pretty much come out and say No to newco with Motherwell also letting their fans decide, only another couple need to be confirmed before we can say bye bye.

We should hear today whether the Saints buyover from the fans is going ahead, if so the fans will decide St Mirren's vote and thats another no.

The groundswell of change is happening, I really cant see them getting back in now, hopefully we wont have any nonsense deals which see them back in the first, they need to be in the third at the very best.

Wouldn't the SFL rules be against them joining the 1st division? Also, what happens to the promotion/relegation from the other divisions since I don't think those clubs would be too happy at losing out?

Hopefully it means an excuse to restructure, not sure why Scotland needs 4 divisions (same as England) but half the clubs...

I'm sure a deal with 3 leagues, better competition and a better distribution of cash would be a good outcome of this mess

I don't want any Scottish team in any of the English Leagues.
They had their chance years and years ago and they opted out and now they want the English money.

I say no.

Dundee Utd the latest club to go public with a no vote for Rangers in the newco according to the BBC. Looking more likely the club will be in division 3 next season if they're lucky. Fan pressure caused the chairman to decide their vote.
