If it goes ahead people will boycott the way they would if Rangers were allowed to stay in the SPL, theres no halfway house here, they are either dealt with like everyone else or if they are given a soft ride, the fans will revolt.
Damned if you do, damned if you dont.

Rangers newco's acceptance into the Scottish FA would only be approved if they accept responsibility for the football debts and fines incurred by the pervious club along with their waiving of rights to a legal challenge
I find those fans revolting anyway so no changealso I seen in the Paisley Express that the St Mirren takeover could be put on hold for a year.

This is the key line from the BBC, the new co and Green won't ever agree to that anyway so division 1 is a non starter.
Green might if he thinks he can get back into the SPL quickly especially if he doesn't have the support of the majority of Rangers fans.
However, I think most Rangers fans want to start again with a clean slate and see the 3rd division as the only option now.
Yeah I agree Green probably see's that avenue but I'd anticipate the new co ending up in administration again in the first season (seeing as theirs no likely backers) so the SPL/SFA will give them more points deductions. They then usually are up for a bigger points deduction for doing it twice in so many years which I can see Green wanting to legally challenge, then challenge the prevention from doing it through the courts.
Basically the SFA are being sensible and making sure Rangers play (properly) by the rules but I don't see Green signing up to it as it takes away all the avenues of worming out of punishment he has used so far.
3rd Division will be fun for the ruse but that relies on money they still don't have.
I simply don't understand the maths re rangers and administration.
Most of the 20K earners have left even if rangers get 20K support at 200 quid circa 4 million it's still more than the rest of div 1 combined in season tickets.
What are Rangers expenses in Div 1 that could lead them not to make a substantial profit?
I thought a few people were still hanging about with reasonable contracts and there hasn't been a resolution of the ticketus case of if they still get the money. The acceptation of past Rangers actions could imply that season ticket money for next season and the year after is for ticketus and not the club.
What's all this about them going into Div1? Where did that option pop up from? Thought it was SPL or Div 3?
