The Rangers Saga and Fallout Thread

A taxi driver was telling me this morning that a huge number of season tickets had been sold for Rangers this year - he claimed more than Celtic - and that Rangers were doing a new deal with Umbro for kit.

I haven't the faintest idea if there's any truth in it or not.

He also said that Sir David Murray's statement was bullish, and that it's typical for people to be advised of the result of a case two weeks in advance... again I don't know if there's truth in that or not - but perhaps the big tax case is going to come out favourably.

I'm not really one for rumours though, and "I heard it from a taxi driver" usually means rubbish :)

Here's some company for him V F :)

Game was brilliant tonight, I can see why they think there were more than 38k. The place was rocking and Rangers played well.

Mmm, gorgeous photo!

I was so shocked when I first went to Ibrox at the age of 7. I had never seen grass glow before. From being so used to local grass swing park areas while playing football.

It was so neat when I came through one of the exits in the main stand and all I saw was this green kryptonite glow bouncing off the the roof and white areas until you saw the grass itself.

To think back how small the main stand used to be. Just as the third deck starts. Wasn't Ibrox classed as one of the best football stadiums in the world?
Ibrox has always fascinated me. There's just something about all the blue seating against the famous red brick. In a way it's like the same feeling as Wimbledon but on a larger scale. Some snug feeling about it. ¬_¬

Though, there's always one section thats always boggled me and looks rather awkward seating. Must be quite poor viewing with the Broomloan and Copeland right in your face for those fans. Right at the front of those angled corners must be terrible. Only seeing one set of goals... then of course relying on the repeat from the big screens.

Ibrox is one of Scotlands 2 5 star stadia. The other being Hampden. And the only one that hasn't hosted a major European final. Wonder why.

So the "official attendance" was 38k but there were more?

Fiddling attendances was so 1990's :)

you have a cheek talking about gers attendance figures where were the 12k missing fans for your champions party and flag raising. A sign of things to come this season? ;)

The East Fife game wasnt covered by season tickets either. :o

That would be so that guilty people could run and hide then - lol ?

Not so, the comment is on the official attendence being 38k when posters here and reports on BBC say there were may more there. No need to be so touchy ;)

38k for two diddy teams playing in a diddy cup is quite admirable tbh :p
