Speaking of res coming in, after days of frustration finding good targets and having them fleet save on me at the last minute (the cheek!), I finally came good when 6 attacks on 6 seperate targets all paid off, bringing home about 1.3mil res. I'm a happy camper again.

Some git did that to me - it was a wave attack too. His fleet is now being monitored and will be getting well and truly phalanxed in the near future.

Managed to get my 206th Battleship and 103rd Cruiser off the construction line before fleetsaving, of which my smallest fleet (70 BS, 40 Cruiser, 40 odd small cargoes) got deployed to raiding colony to get nanite factory up and running, whilst the rest (600 or so ships) is on a leisurely harvesting trip :)

so yeh, expect my points to start rolling in over the next day or so, hopefully i can catch up on lost points :D... plan to be joining Sole and Loctus and Fizz :D

Matt
Good to see you're not setting your sights unrealisticly high. :p ;)
Seriously though, welcome back. :)

Well half an hour an I'll have my 2nd nanite underway at a colony then it's more fleet building as it's time to move up a notch or 2 with my targets.

Davey, see your pal High Ace has joined an alliance. I just noticed but he may have done it a while ago.

you guys in one alliance or summit?
Yea - most of us are in T.N.G (or the wing alliance T.N.G.A) in Uni 3.

Aye, noticed that. No attacking that alliance then, he's strong enough to take out pretty much anyone.

Just out of interest what limits do you set yourself when raiding, how many solar systems out will you raid?
I'll go roughly 50 solar systems either side of me, as that's about a 2 hour trip to get there. Closer is better obviously, and that's where I usually aim, but the farther ones are good sometimes too.

i go 100 either side.. but i've only mapped 30 systems... found enough in those 30 systems to keep me going raid for raid on a daily basis !

i've done regular raids 400 systems away... it doesnt take that much difference between going 100 systems and 400... time wise ! do it while you sleep if you must :/

when you say mapped? you mean written down?
Of course!

Invest in an A3/A2 pad - Whatever will fit on your desk.
Then get noting.

I used to have (not had as much time recently) 25SS's either side of my raiding planets (inavtives) probed and written down the current amount on planet, and whether it was a strong, medium or weak inactive. (Mine level, with lvl15+ metal = Strong, lvl8+ metal medium, lower = don't bother)

Then set out the best amount of raids you can handle to the best targets, taking time into account. (2 * good raids in half the time > one big raid which takes longer)
And mark them off. A different colour of pen per raiding time helps you avoid bashing.

Then the next time you are setting up raids, scan the strong ones.
If there doesn't happen to be any good strong ones, then scan the mediums.

Inactives are the best way to go when starting out, they do not change much and will not attack you bacK!
(up to 3.5k anyway IMHO, I am still finding it OK at 70k points, but need to start attacking to keep up!)

Everyone has a different way - I'd like to hear what method fRostiE, Anarchy, Locutus, Sole, wraith, Uncle Bob etc, etc, etc use too, especially as they are taking fleet into account.

You forgot my name!

I just probe everything that is within 48 solar systems. Fleet crashing becomes very difficult when the opponent has fair warning. However my phalanx has a range of 48 solar systems, so that is usually how far I will look :D

I have 200k points, and I am a bit picky about who I raid. If I fill less than 20 large cargoes, forget it. Crashing however, I usually try to hit anything over 2% moonchance, but that is because I love crashing people. New fleet coming soon to allow me to do just that :D

Attacking someone's fleet so that it will create debris. You send your recyclers to the debris, thus gaining resources from someone else's loss :)

Won't that mean you lose lots of ships too?
